If Oklahoma scheduled Portland State instead of Ohio State, they still probably wouldn't make the playoff. They didn't play anyone all year. It's not so much the losses that are hurting them as the lack of good wins. It's a gamble they had to take because they don't play a conference title game.
Washington didn't have a grueling schedule by any means, but their wins were clearly better.
What?
What?
Played five ranked teams, four of which were inside the top 15...
Let me rephrase. They didn't lose 2 nonconference games and then start beating good teams later in the year. Ohio State was their only chance to have a really good win. West Virginia and Oklahoma State are ok, and everyone else they played sucks.
Who? OU? West Virginia, Oklahoma State, and Ohio State are the ranked teams they played.
Also, who the hell did Washington play? If there was ever a case for a conference champion to not deserve a playoff berth, there it is.
And you decide those wins are ok and everyone else sucks?
So I can say wins over Utah and Colorado are ok, but everyone else sucked too, if it suited my point?
Houston? TCU?
Can't remember if Texas was ranked when they played them, although even if they were I'll give you that one because they turned out to be garbage this year even though they looked like they might be better early on in the year.
