2016 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I fully expect more of the same this year.

Prove me wrong, Browns. I DARE you!

The trades themselves were good. The execution of the picks they acquired is what was bad.

They were still in position to acquire top tier talent even after the trade.

Draft position hasn't been what has killed us in previous trade downs, talent evaluation is.

Fixed that for you.

Mack is all world

I wish Buffalo wouldn't have called. Because I think Mack would have been the pick for the Browns.

Fuck you Buffalo.
That too, but I'm just saying they didn't even hit on the best receiver. And if that is what you guys wanted, you could have still got the best one.

See what happens in front of you before making a move.

If Stanley or Zeke go in the top 5, you could have Buckner or Bosa fall into your lap. Grab one of them and trade back into the 1st and grab a WR.

What's the going rate for dropping 5-6 spots? Could we grab another 2nd if we traded back with the Titans?

But depending on the prospect, situation, team, etc. you guys would probably be looking for more than that. I mean, it depends on how other teams value the player and how bad they want them. For example, if Tunsil falls to 8, he could be worthy of a #1 pick, especially to a team like the Titans that want to move up and would have took him anyway at #1. Or if teams see Elliot as a top 5 talent, maybe Dolphins have him ranked #1 for them, they should be willing to give up more.

Depending on who falls and how much a team likes them, the talent drop off is bigger than just 8 to 13 or 15. It's more like moving up 15 spots. The price will obviously still be cheaper moving up to 8 rather than 2 or 4. But I would expect/want more than what a value chart says if I was you. It doesn't account for many possible variables.

And the good thing is that it seems already that you are trying hard to avoid this trap. Although it may be disappointing not getting your QB, it is a good thing that you aren't letting your "need" cloud your judgement and overly influence you instead of looking at the best player/talent.

Instead of taking a QB you aren't really sold on (that could end up busting or being average) just because you need a QB, you sold it for a great haul. Whether or not Wentz ends up being good or not or you guys hit on your picks, we won't know until a couple years. But I think it is great regardless that you broke out of the mindset of forcing picks based on needs. Don't get me wrong, fit is important, but you are going to hit on more picks if you go BPA. Teams bust more when they start reaching.

Best case scenario I see is Stanley falling to 8, prompting Tennessee to send us 15 & 33 (43 may be more likely) for the LT they desperately need for Mariota.

If they were desperate for him, they wouldn't have moved back down to 15 in the first place.

But I do agree I'd like to see them acquire one of those three second round picks, even if it means giving up a fourth in the process.

If we somehow land their #15 & #33, with us only giving up our #8 and even a 4th, I will walk around the bar tonight asking who wants a reach around. I will be happy as shit.

What the fuck is happening on NFL network right now? Rick Neuhisel and a draft day song, seriously?
