I believe the LeBron comparisons for Simmons come from the way he is simply overpowering people. Honestly, if LeBron went to school for a year, I imagine he'd have put up similar numbers to what Simmons is right now. 20-13-5 is unheard of from college players.
Considering Lebron put up 21-6-5 as an 18 year old in the NBA, playing 40 MPG in 79 games, and was the major focus of the other team's defense all the time, I'm pretty sure he could have blown the doors off the college game much more than Simmons has...the 35 second shot clock would have slowed him down a bit, but playing less than half the number of games means he would have been in hyperdrive mode all the time.

This draft isn't going to be very good. Of course, people who follow recruiting knew this was a good possibility. Most analysts weren't overly bullish on last year's crop of prospects.
We need an infusion of young talent to really make this core pop. That is partially why GS is so successful IMO. They took picks in the 20's & 30's and turned them into key players. There probably won't be any superstars (except for maybe Ingram who has that ceiling). But there are quite a few solid role players.
