2017-2018 Around the NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Milwaukee is Giannis or bust on offense. Not too worried about them at this point. However, I’m glad that it’s likely going to be Toronto for us in the 2nd round, rather than Milwaukee/Washington.

Beal did a good job reacting to a mostly common foul to make Delly get a flagrant 2 yesterday.

Milwaukee guard Matthew Dellavedova was ejected from the Bucks-Wizards game on Saturday in Washington for a horse-collar hold on a driving Bradley Beal.

Midway through the fourth quarter of a tight game, Beal was attempting to drive to the basket and got past Dellavedova. But the chippy Bucks guard caught Beal from behind and wrapped an arm around his neck, driving him to the floor.

"He plays super aggressive. Sometime overly aggressive," Beal said after the Bucks' 110-103 win. "That's just his knack, ever since he came into the league. ... That play was kinda crazy. I understand you want to stop the ball, but there's a right way and a wrong way."

Dellavedova was called for a flagrant foul 2 and was ejected.

Afterward, the Bucks guard said Beal slipped.

"[John] Wall threw the ball up to Beal, and I tried to run him off the three," Dellavedova said. "He decides to drive it, so I tried to hold him up, and he slipped because he went down. I was just trying to hold him up to prevent him from getting the and-1, and then he just went to the ground."

Dellavedova said he wasn't expecting the ejection.

"I thought it was a foul maybe or a flagrant one. But I definitely wasn't expecting that," he said.

Wall wasn't buying it.

"[Dellavedova is] known for undercutting guys trying to box him out and stuff like that," he said. "I give no credit for that. I give credit to him for being a hard player that's hard-nose, one of the old-school-type players that plays very physically, I give him credit for that. But when it comes to doing dirty plays, I have no respect for him."

Asked how he was doing after the fall, Beal said, "I'm good. I played football."

Wall and Beal are bitch made

Delly having a reputation as dirty is comical

Do you like IT's phantom fouls now? I do, they look very very much like fouls with my glasses on. Would you feel the same if Delly did what he did if he were never a Cavalier ? I doubt that you would feel good about him injuring Korver's ankle, grabbing Gibson's legs and the other stuff that he has done.

I really don't think Delly is dirty as much as Draymond, Zaza and other players that deliberately try to hurt you, but Delly will do everything on the floor to help his team win and at times disregard everything else, and so I understand why casual fans and other teams fans think he is dirty.

I didn't like it and disagreed with it when he was a Cavalier, but I would probably feel the same way if he injured my player even if it was with no intent.

There's nothing malicious about that play at all. Delly is obviously just trying to wrap Beal up and he slips/flops. LeBron gets hit 15x that hard on a nightly basis and is lucky if they get called as common fouls. You'd probably have to decapitate LeBron to get called for a flagrant 2.

Oh yeah, that's not malicious at all. That's at worst flagrant one and that's because he accidentally wrapped him near the neck and Beal stumbled like a pussy.

Lebron is fouled like that every single game and barely gets a foul for that. The difference is that he just doesn't fall or feel the contract at all.

I hate the Wizards almost as much as any other team. Bunch of wannabe tough guys who constantly run their mouths but haven't accomplished much of anything in the league. Beal flops and then wants to whine about how it was a dirty play

Definitely flagrant. And kind of dangerous. Beal’s ankle turned in an unsavory-looking way there. I like Delly, but that was uncalled-for.

They made too much out of this....looks to me like Delly just wanted to grab him after he blew past him...wrapped him up around his shoulders...big deal...

Giannis is the hardest wing to stop from getting to the rim I've ever seen. Harder than prime LeBron.

He scores 30 a game, from the perimiter, with no 3 point shot. You simply cannot keep him from getting to the rim.

Which, again, is why I really want to avoid that team with our lack of rim defense.

If the season ended with the standings the way they are now, that would be pretty close to ideal.

Flagrant because of the result, not the intent.

I don't believe Delly's intent was to do anything nearly that dangerous-looking. He's not a dirty player.

But then, I didn't believe Zaza's intent was to get Leonard to land on his foot, either.

Yeah, I don't think intent matters anymore. Just look at Wade's "flagrant" last night. He didn't intend to hit Fournier in the face, but the result was that he did.

Not a fluke that the Warriors led the league in flagrant fouls last year...
