2017-2018 Around the NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Hoping Hood is another Oladipo: man has he improved. Hood is the one guy who looks like he has the physical ability and skills to take a leap
His shot looks a lot like Michael Redd. Lefty with a high smooth release. Not as much kick as Mike, but he kicks enough to get some key calls.

I really think we should have tried to snag Mario Hezonja on the cheap. Magic not picking up his option was a very big mistake.

I think he would have thrived with Lebron and his value was at the bottom. Really low risk high reward.

Memphis need to fire Chris Wallace asap.

What an absolute clusterfuck last few years have been.

Gave that ridiculous contract to Parsons. Should have traded Conley + Marc Gasol last season or this season and gone for a re-build immediately when their value was relatively high.

And instead of getting a couple of 2nd round picks, they will lose Tyreke Evans for nothing!

Worse is they should be tanking full-throttle now but Tyreke Evans and Marc Gasol etc will help them win few games lmao.

I disagree that they should have traded Conley and Gasol and gone full rebuild. That's not a market you can afford to do that in.

However, that Parsons contract definitely is a fireable offense. And that was true WHEN HE SIGNED IT.

At least Crowder knows what he is, a system player.

Good fit for the right team and looked really good tonight for the Jazz. Just not really a fit here. Especially not as our starting PF, a move I still can't really figure out. Oh well, glad that Jae is happy. He seemed like an ok guy and probably just felt responsible for defending IT once the locker room really became a mess.

Toronto will finish as the #1 seed. And if the recent games are any indication, the Cavs have a legit shot at overtaking Boston. I'd say, 25-35%.

Yea like people think full rebuild is an option everywhere.

It isn't if A) your owner isn't willing to eat low profits/losses and B) you're in a market that can't overcome A (like LA or New York).

Like, if Dan Gilbert wasn't willing to blow money, this isn't a market that could withstand a 5 year rebuild. We don't sell out the arena, or come close to it, when losing, and we don't have massive TV deals like the Knicks with the Yes network and whatnot.

That Memphis arena will be a ghost town if that team stays bad for long. And Memphis is one of, if not the smallest market in the league.

Now, if the Cavs offered the BKN pick for Gasol and they turned it down, that would be stupid. But otherwise, this is their best bet. Be really bad for one year (they should tank the rest of the year) then add a top rookie to Conley and Gasol next year. Go back to trying to compete with the injection of youthful talent.

Good for him.

But I will wait for some time.

He started off well here also.

The ceiling of that Memphis team is/was a fringe playoffs team. Even that is doubtful.

Marc Gasol is 33. And Mike Conley is injury-prone.

Probably keep Mike Conley but Marc Gasol had good value last season and with his age, it was going to be downhill from then on. Trade him and get a couple of picks. Those picks would probably not have been Top-10 picks or something but with good scouting you can still get good players in mid 1st rounders like Kuzma, Mitchell, Booker etc.

I also don't agree that Memphis would have become a ghost town had they decided to rebuild. They are one of the most vocal and passionate fan-bases. If they could have drafted someone who looks like a Future All-Star, the fans would have still come to the arena. There's always excitement when you have got good talented youngsters. Now obviously, the key is not to become an Orlando or Charlotte, where you're re-building for years!

Spurs continue to rest players...now Aldridge with a sore knee. Do you guys think they are purposely losing games as they don't care about the standing and they just want to get a favourable pick since they recognize how deep this draft is? They properly already have a prospect in mind.
