2017-2018 Around the NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Good showing there by the Suns.

Youth movement is great and all if you manage to find a true star like the Sixers. Otherwise, you're just killing confidence and not helping players grow.
I remember frequenting their RealGM board a bit during Kyrie rumor season and some of the posters their at that time were chafing at the idea of even including Bender or Chriss in Kyrie deals.

Then again, I remember a time many of us(I'm raising my hand too) were reduced to the rationalizations that Zeller, Karasev, and Bennett were going to become legit NBA players. Or that Samardo Samuels or Manny Harris were going to become low key developmental steals.

Their rebuild is 3-4 years old and they still don't have a player that even approaches what we had with Kyrie in 2012.

Nerlens Noel had a highly productive 20 minutes. But the Mavs lost because they couldn't stop, what hsould be, a bad offensive team in Atlanta.

I'm not sure how long they can try this Dirk/Barnes small ball thing. Might be time to move Dirk to the bench in favor of Noel.

I think I remember reading that their plan with Dirk is to aim for about 72 games played, with some nights being regular minutes(24-30) and some being even more reduced(16-20)

But you see how bad their roster is and you fully understand why they didn't want to trade much beyond Bledsoe for Irving.

You put Irving on that team, minus Bledsoe, minus Josh Jackson, and minus a lottery pick, which is what people wanted....that's awful. Phoenix doesn't come close to sniffing the playoffs. They probably don't get to 30 wins.

It's why I kinda ignored the Phoenix stuff. It didn't make sense for them. They'd still be awful. Irving isn't good enough to take a bottom 5 lottery team and turn them into a 40+ win team. He just isn't.

It's a wrap when OKC figures it out.

Wtf, is Raymond Felton in shape??!!

A wrap as in?...

That team has maybe a 4% chance to beat Golden State if firing on all cylinders
Yup. It's great to say "hey, this team is fun!" or "yeah, they're pretty good!" At the end of the day, none of that shit matters. We're all watching one really long movie for which the ending is already known.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is, fuck the Warriors.

What is on Westbooks arms? Those circle bruises?

Both OKC and Houston have a better chance beating Golden State than any team did last year.

If Westbrook is gonna defer like this and put all of his energy into other parts of the game, he might average anotger triple double and be in the conversation for defensive player of the year.

Defensively, their starting 5 is every bit as good as Golden State, if not better.

It would have to be a lot better to make up for the immense difference in offense from the starting 5... and depth for that matter

I don't agree at all that this OKC team had a better shot than we did last year. I think you're heavily overrating them
