2017-2018 Around the NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The east is going to be fun this season.

Yeah.... the Bucks with Bledsoe are a PROBLEM.

Yea I see no good reason the Bucks shouldn't end up with the 1st or 2nd seed in the East now. Once Parker comes back, that's a tough bench unit, too, assuming he comes off the bench and they keep that starting unit together.

The two greatest teams in NBA history square off tonight in unprecedented fashion

Fucking Chicago.

Tanking bastards.

The 76ers and Warriors were going toe to toe for almost three quarters and then boom. PHI is talented, but that can't make up for lack of experience.

Bucks getting a lot of love in here for being a 6-6 team with questionable floor spacing/depth.

Giannis is amazing but he isn't going to win the MVP unless Milwaukee wins 50 games. If you guys think they get to 50, then fine but I just don't quite see it.

Beating the Lakers by 8 and shooting 40% doesn't really make me scared of them with Bledsoe. He was like 4-13 for 11 points anyways.

I like Bledsoe but he's never been a good shooter. Passable, not Derrick Rose but not very good either. If he takes too many minutes from Brogdon I think they're going to struggle a lot offensively.

Dude... all the shitty teams the Cavs have been blown out by, and you're going to do this?

The other criticisms are fair.

DeMarcus Cousins may be playing better than Davis.

Milwaukee tries very hard almost every night. They are a young team that gives consistent effort. If the Cavs played with Milwaukee's effort, we probably would have won every one of those games.

But I'm not sure why you're bringing the Cavs up in this thread? Pretty sure they were nowhere in my post, lol.

I think Milwaukee's offense/spacing is a problem and I think the 40% mark in a win against the Lakers is a pretty solid indicator of that.

I just think it's funny all the hand-wringing about not taking anything from the early games with the Cavs, but doing that very thing with everyone else. And from what I watched, Milwaukee was hardly exerting max effort.

And their biggest issue right now is Middleton can't hit a three for some reason. In a seven-game series, I like the makeup of their team.

I don't wan't to turn this into a Cavs thread, but there's a ton of legitimate reasons why the Cavs right now are just not even in the same ballpark as the team they're going to be later on. And who knows, maybe I'm wrong but that's also just my opinion.

Maybe didn't go all out, but they gave a professional effort at minimum and do almost every night. Cavs failed to even do that.

I like them too, but like I said I really don't like their overall spacing/bench with Bledsoe in.

They miss Jabari a ton, to be sure. But who knows if he'll ever be the same. Brogdon/Middleton/Giannis/healthy Jabari is a legit 4. If they went small with Giannis at the 5 and put Bledsoe in that line-up, I think that's when they're at their most dangerous. But Bledsoe still hurts the spacing and is the guy I would constantly cheat off of. But then when you look at the bench, Liggins/Delly/Snell/Henson/Maker(who I am really really down on overall now) doesn't inspire much confidence. Giannis jumper is still too inconsistent(everything else is absolutely insane though...but in the playoffs teams will just let him shoot all day and wall off the paint...and he'll still get 30/10 probably but still)

Like I said, I like the Bucks. I just don't think they're ready to make that 50+ win leap this year. Maybe 45 if things break the right way for them. It's how I've felt since before the season even. And that can all be true and they can still end up the 2nd or 3rd most dangerous playoff matchup because of Giannis.

I guess I've just never been a huge Bledsoe guy, personally.

Westbrook JUST won an MVP last year winning 47 games.

As far as floor spacing goes, Middleton, Brogdon, Snell and Parker are all more than capable 3 point shooters.

Okay. But a few things.

-Averaged a triple double for the 2nd time in NBA history. If he didn't do that Harden would have won it. (I think Harden finally wins it this year for the record)
-47 games in the stacked West.
-Narrative of Durant leaving and him carrying OKC all by himself

Also was the first guy to win with that few games won since Moses Malone.

If that's the argument you want to hang your Giannis MVP hat on though, by all means. I don't think the Bucks will even win 47 games though.

And is Parker going to come back 100% after another ACL tear? No guarantees of that whatsoever. That's a giant question mark. And he's going to be out until probably at least February I read somewhere. That will be like 50 games into the season.

Agree about Snell/Brogdon/Middleton(he's struggling badly from 3 this year...i do expect him to turn it around though). But Bledsoe addition directly cuts into minutes and shots for all of those guys. Maybe it will improve them a lot...maybe a little...maybe not at all. We'll see. It also might take them awhile. Giannis has never ever played with a guard like Bledsoe who needs the ball in his hands that much. That's gonna be a huge adjustment for him.

If you set the over/under at 45.5, I would take bets on the under for Milwaukee wins is all I'm saying.

I'd also bet against Giannis to win MVP. I think he'll win it...but not this year.

I just think Milwaukee is at least 1 more year and 1 more big piece away. If I were them I would trade Thon Maker right now while he still has good value. I'd try to get a versatile scoring wing or big.

I think they cruise to 50 wins now. That's two straight games of superb defense out of them, including winning in San Antonio.

Once Parker comes back...I think that's a 53 win team even starting out slow like they have.
