Westbrook JUST won an MVP last year winning 47 games.
As far as floor spacing goes, Middleton, Brogdon, Snell and Parker are all more than capable 3 point shooters.
Okay. But a few things.
-Averaged a triple double for the 2nd time in NBA history. If he didn't do that Harden would have won it. (I think Harden finally wins it this year for the record)
-47 games in the stacked West.
-Narrative of Durant leaving and him carrying OKC all by himself
Also was the first guy to win with that few games won since Moses Malone.
If that's the argument you want to hang your Giannis MVP hat on though, by all means. I don't think the Bucks will even win 47 games though.
And is Parker going to come back 100% after another ACL tear? No guarantees of that whatsoever. That's a giant question mark. And he's going to be out until probably at least February I read somewhere. That will be like 50 games into the season.
Agree about Snell/Brogdon/Middleton(he's struggling badly from 3 this year...i do expect him to turn it around though). But Bledsoe addition directly cuts into minutes and shots for all of those guys. Maybe it will improve them a lot...maybe a little...maybe not at all. We'll see. It also might take them awhile. Giannis has never ever played with a guard like Bledsoe who needs the ball in his hands that much. That's gonna be a huge adjustment for him.
If you set the over/under at 45.5, I would take bets on the under for Milwaukee wins is all I'm saying.
I'd also bet against Giannis to win MVP. I think he'll win it...but not this year.
I just think Milwaukee is at least 1 more year and 1 more big piece away. If I were them I would trade Thon Maker right now while he still has good value. I'd try to get a versatile scoring wing or big.
