2017-2018 Around the NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ingram is a good example of why it's way too early to burry Lonzo. Last year Ingram was shooting horribly. He played hesitant and timid. He didn't know how to pick his spots. He looks like a really good player early on this year and he's not even close to filling out yet.

You refuse to give BOS any credit at all from clearly being the best team in the league right now.

They aren't clearly the best team in the league right now. The Warriors average margin of victory is something absurd like 12-13 points.

But #1: Philly isn't where he was born. He came back here on a mission, for himself. We were able to present an acceptable basketball situation as well, but the #1 reason was because it was Cleveland.

#2: Again, he's going to be 33 in the summer and will turn 34 mid-season. This isn't the same as coming back to the Cavs in your late 20's.

Even then, Love and Kyrie were STILL more seasoned than Embiid and Simmons. Simmons will be a SECOND year player next year. He's a total stud but still just a 2nd year player. He also happens to basically play the same exact position and the same exact way LeBron plays. That is a much more awkward fit than Kyrie/Love was.

I wouldn't rule it out completely, I just consider it extremely unlikely.

I suppose they could work out a back-room deal where they agree to trade Fultz and their draft pick for an all-star. LBJ/All star/Simmons/Embiid. Could change the dynamics and make it more likely. We'll see. Might not be an easy thing to make happen monetarily though (the trade AND signing LBJ)

No. He doesn't come back to Cleveland without the talent in place. No Kyrie, no Love, no LeBron.

I'll be honest, they have two all-stars right now. Simmons and Embiid should make the team if selections were today. Simmons is in contention for best PG in the East, and at worst, he's the 3rd best (he's WAY ahead of Lowry right now).

If they are a good ways over .500, both should make it.

Jesus Embiid
44 points, 14 boards, 6 assists, and 7 blocks and the game still ain't over

Considering the circumstances they are the best right now. Winning without their best players and without playing to their potential. I'm glad they play tomorrow though.

I don't understand. The circumstances are that Golden State is demolishing everyone they play. Boston not having guys doesn't make them better, it makes them worse.

76ers are what the Cavs were trying to be but got unlucky draft classes/missed on draft picks. We were very close to Kyrie/Anthony Davis :(

He's going to be a bust because even in college he didn't have the athleticism to create his own shot. His best case scenario was always Shaun Livingston

No question Simmons and Embiid will be All Stars this year. Embiid might even start. Ingram is going to be in the running for Most Improved Player this year.

Embiid looks like he’s going to put up a GamesScore of 50+ and Simmons 30+. Going to have to search later, but I doubt there’s been many as statistically dominant games by a duo regardless of age.

Embiid is a generational talent because he affects both sides of the ball.

Looks like Simmons might be one, too.

Ingram looks like he might finally show something. The NBA is more talented now than it ever has been and it’s not even close to being close.

He was way more aggressive in college. He's really indecisive and timid right now. Much like Ingram was last year. I watched every laker game last year. Ingram wasn't assertive like he is this year. Lonzo isn't trying to assert himself enough. He'll be okay in time. The Lakers aren't putting any extra pressure on him and they are actually handling him well.

Yea I just don't see another player in the league who can offer you the things that Embiid can to try and punish the way Golden State plays. Draymond Green, as good as he is, won't be able to slow him down on the block. And Embiid has all the athleticism required to hang with them on defense when guarding smaller guys.

They look like a threat to me to get James.

Wonder how things would have changed if Embiid never got hurt. Do we still trade for Love?

Can't lie. Philly is looking like a legit option. Still think he stays a Cav, but if you listened to Rich Paul on Cowherd today he mentioned its all about winning...

LeBron is going to pay very close attention to what happens with that Nets pick. People keep saying its ok if its a 6th or 7th pick. I think its crucial that its a top 2 or 3 pick.
