My predictions for the East all-stars

F - Love
F - LeBron
F - Giannis
G - DeRozan (replaces Wade who I doubt plays)
G - Irving

Reserves

F - Butler
F - Anthony
G - Lowry
G - Walker
G - Thomas
G - George
C - Drummond

Drummond is the wild card. I could see him. Maybe Horford gets in instead being on a better team.

But Kemba and Thomas IMO both make it over George, even if Wade does play. George isn't having the greatest of season's. I doubt he gets in over Thomas or Walker.

Both will be an all-star IMO.
This is a pretty good list. I'd take Porzingis over Melo, personally, though I get why Melo is there.

At center, somebody has to make it between Drum and Whiteside. Drummond with the better team makes sense.

I hope Wade doesn't play, because he's not one of the 12 best in the East. That would make this logjam a little easier.

I doubt Wade decides to play.

Wall could possibly make it over Paul George. I think it will largely depend on which team is better at the moment. Those two are toss ups.

I think Kemba and IT are locks to make the team though. Obviously Lowry is a lock.

I'm waiting for the inevitable certain posters turning this thread into a mess explaining why Kyrie shouldn't make it in over Lowry, Wall, Kemba, or Thomas.
It is amazing. I mean, this is the general NBA fanbase giving Kyrie the 2nd most votes. This isn't some hard push from the Cleveland fanbase. This isn't Drake giving away free phones. This is fans of the NBA giving Kyrie the respect he has earned from fans, especially since the 2016 playoffs and Finals.

To drop 41 in Game 5, to hit the GW shot in Game 7 and finish with a Finals MVP-esque performance...and then hit another GW shot in the rematch on Christmas Day has evidently taken his popularity to a whole other level.

And it is well deserved.

I agree with you despite my latest post. Just think the other guys are having monster seasons.

They are number one options on their team. Of course some of their numbers will look better. I never understand why some don't understand that. They are not better players than Kyrie. Their team's are much inferior to Kyrie's.

Okay, Lowry technically isn't the number one option on his team. And he's the only one I can see any argument to at all. But their PERs are basically identical. Kyrie has to share the spot line with two others. Lowry; it's just him and DeRozan, and it's basically split down the middle between them too. Sometimes Kyrie is the third option on the team that particular night.

So again, Kyrie I think should get the edge.

Thomas and Kemba over Kyrie? Get out of here, both are much inferior players and don't belong ahead of Kyrie. Just, no....

They are having monster seasons. All of them. That doesn't mean they are having better seasons or deserve it over Kyrie, though.

And yes, team record matters. For that reason, if no other, Kyrie should start. For that same reason, Wall should be left behind and IT/Kemba should be rewarded for having their teams in the middle of the Eastern playoff standings. Lowry should obviously make it as well as "first PG off the bench."

They're all going to make it. There's no way John Wall, or Paul George (he's not having that good of a year guys) will make it over Thomas and Walker.

So there's no reason to feel bad for Kemba and Thomas, they will be all-stars. Starting over Kyrie? No, that's absurd. Not deserving of that at all.

It's ridiculous.

Like that graphic earlier in this thread showing Kyrie as the most clutch player for the last five seasons, the Tom Haberstrohs also don't want you to know that if Kyrie got the free throw attempts that Lillard, Wall, and Thomas currently do he'd be averaging a ppg/apg/rpg stat-line of 27/6/3 with a TS% of 61% as the #2 option right now. He belongs there.

Kid is a legit superstar, period.

Team record *should* but doesn't always matter enough, imo.

See: just last year with Horford and Pau getting the nod over Love when the Cavs were first in the East without Kyrie for a significant portion. Two Heat, Raptors, and Hawks. One Cavalier.

Kyrie and Love will be just the fourth and fifth LeBron teammates to join him in nine trips in wine and gold despite all of their success (Z in '05, Mo in '09, Kyrie in '15)

Being defending champs, having the best record in the East. We better have three starters. Not three make it, all three starting.

All three are well deserving and are having monster years. I think it's absurd if all three aren't starting to be honest. Total travesty. Giannis will start, and should, but no other forward is deserving to start over Love. Butler? No, his team is not good...

Cavs potentially having 3 all star starters?

What a time folks!

Cleveland gets overlooked. It will be no different this year.

I really don't like the media voting. I am fine with players, but the media has no business voting. It's bad enough they vote for MVPs and botch that up a lot of the time.

Why does the media deserve to vote? If they want to vote as fans, fine, but they're IMO not "experts".

I'd be okay if former players in the media were allowed to vote.
