One good thing about Kyrie's game is that it is almost all skill-based rather than athleticism-based. He gets by people not because he's exceptionally quick, but because he's got exceptional ball-handling skills. He's a great finisher not because he gets great elevation, but because of his fantastic ball/body control. And he doesn't get great height on his jump shot -- he just creates space with his ball-handing and lightning-fast shot.

There's no reason he shouldn't keep improving for a number of years, and be able to maintain a very high level of performance into his mid-30's.

Loved the competitive fire he showed throughout, and loved the way he went off on Frye later in the game when Frye continued to blow PnR defensive coverages.
Yeah because Kyrie of all people has the right to criticize when it comes to blown defensive assignments.

On nearly every drive he was fouled on a level of what is usually called for IT and Harden

It's amazing to me that since Kyrie can actually finish he doesn't get the calls. Seriously anyone who says Kyrie doesn't get to the line because he avoids contact watch this video and tell me on his drives those aren't fouls for Harden and IT. Seriously I want someone to watch this and tell me that.

Wouldn't TS%, PPP or PPS be a better indicator of efficiency than number of field goals taken considering that number doesn't account for possessions used for foul shooting?
Yes.

His TS% for the game was 88.5%, which is still insanely good, even for a SSS.

He let Russell go off for 40. But defense isn't a thing so great game kyrie.
Shumpert and Swish guarded Russell for an easy 80% of the game. Kyrie actually played decent defense last night. Clarkson attacked him physically for a lot of the game via the PnR, and that gave Kyrie some trouble because he is awful going around screens, but it was more-or-less fine.

Russell wasn't his man for a large portion of the game.

Are you guys really implying that Frontpagenews did more research into this than just looking at the box score, seeing the opposing PG scored 41, and then rushing to this thread to point out that the player that plays the same position on the other team scored a lot?

Of course not. Just making sure the record was set straight.

Russell wasn't even the opposing PG, Clarkson was. Dlo played SG. Of course he would have needed to watch the game to know that.

I wish kyrie was as defensive as the people are who defend him.
