Thankfully he has one week off. However, Kyrie's foot bothering him two years ago, and even with a week off it continued to nag him the following rounds.

I'm just crossing my fingers it's not deja vu again. Luckily, I don't think he has looked that hobbled though compared to two years ago, where he'd evidently was limping.

I've not seen Kyrie bothered to that extent.

Kyrie's days of playing ball in the summer should be over though, hopefully.
It bothers me that this seems to be a chronic issue with him right around this time of the year.

The only reason why it didn’t happen last year is because Kyrie only started his season in mid-December.

It seems like people on here are trying to make an excuse as to why Kyrie has played slightly poorly these past two games. There has been absolutely no reports of him being injured, so why are people using this and running away with it?

He could be fatigued, but to just jump to an injury concern is absurd.

If Kyrie's knee is bothering him it is Lue's fault -- gave him only two games off at the end of the year and played him five games in eight days, including TWO games of 45 minutes+, right before the playoffs.

But not sure it's really a knee injury. Kyrie's 2-point shooting percentage was actually pretty good this series, around 54-55%, it was the threes that were his big problem on offense. It seems to me his inside penetration is most stressful on his knee. You can say you don't see the explosion but he was still pretty effective and consistently so. His three point percentage was awful, but could that just be some bad shot selection and a cold streak?

Yeah I haven't seen him favoring his knee at all. Just typical injury assumption that happens every time someone looks like shit.

Because he's clearly not able to do things he normally could.

I don't think anyone is giving him a pass. Some of his decision making has been atrocious, and that has nothing to do with his knee.

This is the Cavs, they don't exactly make it known to report on injuries unless they're forced to because the player is missing games.

They've been caught numerous times hiding injuries that come out of nowhere.

Do you not remember Kevin Love's back, out of no where, suddenly being an issue when he finally started missing games? Nothing about that before he actually missed time. When it reality it was probably bothering before it was reported.

Kyrie's foot came out of left field two years ago, when the team admitted that it had been a problem for awhile.

Unless the player is missing time, the Cavs aren't going to report these things.

FWIW I've not seen an issue with Kyrie when it comes to his overall speed/quickness, and movements overall.

But when it comes to his lift, it's been pretty inconsistent. The guy got blocked by Teague twice, on his jump shot. Once, okay, but twice? He barely got any lift on both those shots. That's not a bit odd to you?

But there was a report about knee soreness from the screws in his surgically repaired knee.

And it's not just jumping to a conclusion. I don't even care about the boxscore, or his percentages, or any stats. I'm looking at how he's moving. Does he have his usual burst and quickness? Does he look spry? From what I'm seeing, the answer is no. He got his points today because he's just that skilled, but I don't know if that's gonna cut it moving forward into the playoffs.

To beat the Warriors they will need a fully operational Kyrie. Lebron can't beat GS by himself.

I think a good long rest could help but if this an issue moving forward it could spell trouble. Kyrie is still a great shooter so we have that going for us but if he can't get to the rim and finish like he's capable of then we're screwed.

If he was our first option we would be screwed

Would just make things more difficult for the King

As a scorer? I don't think Kyrie as a scorer is the problem with his game.

Unless you mean best player. Well yeah, I don't think Kyrie as our best player could win us a championship.

But guess what, I'm not sure you can win a title that way with nearly 95% of the league as your best player. So that's hardly a knock on Kyrie.

I read this as "The King makes love too difficultly."
