I love people who talk about wanting to beat Golden State throw deals at me with a rookie who hasnt played one NBA minute as the centerpiece of a trade.

"If you want to beat Golden State how about this rookie with zero NBA experience!!"

Nah dude. If my goal is to try and beat Golden State next season, I'm not taking Josh Jackson over Carmelo Anthony. Fuck outta here. Everyone always so sure their college player evaluations cant possibly miss.

I don't even know who josh Jackson is

Is he as good as our boy felder?

1) Kyrie tried to have a meeting with Griffin after the season, but the meeting was rebuffed because of the Griffin saga.

2) Cavs then tried to deal Kyrie without asking him before the draft.

3) Their team didn't 'announce' anything. They had a meeting and a discussion. The only 'announcement' came through Windy (and whoever his source was -- mind you, only FO, Kyrie, and his agent were in that room -- and Kyrie would rather cut his balls off than leak a scoop to Windhorst) 2 wks later.

Given 1,2, and 3, I'd say blaming Kyrie's team would be about the most misguided take-home ever.

They did not try to deal him. Simply not true.

If only he was able to play offense and then be taken off for defense every possession

He defended Curry a crapload better that Curry ever defended him. Curry was 44/38/90 and Kyrie actually GUARDED HIM.

Kyrie, OTOH, was being guarded largely by Klay and Iggy...

If only GS had a Shump/JR...

Define 'try.'

Multiple folks have said that the FO discussed trading Kyrie. Hell, since you and others seem to have chosen to believe Windy's word is absolute, I'll just quote him from an article he wrote last night:

"The Cavs did not make Irving untouchable in trade talks in late June and early July, multiple sources told ESPN. Cleveland was not inserting him into deals but listened when teams inquired about him. None of those trade proposals became serious enough to the point that Irving's representatives were contacted to sign off on the potential swap, sources told ESPN."

What in holy fuck are you talking about?

I mean there was reports of a Cavs player people were getting tired off and add that to the he wanted to be traded last year but decided to not to tell anyone. He was basically and you could tell in his play as he resorted to what he wanted to be and fans got pissed. I have no idea but if you paid attention some player was dragging the team down and I blamed TT at first. However knowing this Kyrie might have been the one. Kobe did this same shit and he stayed but it was a protest for help. Kyrie is thinking he is better than he is and can lead a team or such.

Now to your to why he is greedy and selfish in this case. He put up the same numbers almost every year as a rookie. That is fine but he then decided to score more and that is fine. However he played way more hero ball that broke the offense this year than he did in our Champion year. So he feels he can get better at his age he can and wants to be the next LeBron. The selfish part is you do not ask for a trade now after keeping it all in. Again "IF" he really feels this and wants to move on he pulled a Mo Williams and handcuffed the team. Our FO situation did not help. I hope that explains it to you.

I do not know what to tell this guy... He seems to not understand any of this and is spouting off random twitter knowledge that this point.

Given your last post, I'm not expecting you to understand very much of anything.

That is fine personal insults are not taken well around here. I explained my point and said you might not understand the situation as it was told. So feel free to make your self look worse than you do now.

Given your last post, I'm not expecting you to understand very much of anything.

It was not an attack on your post it was common knowledge that you might have not been aware of. I mean the whole past season was a mess because a few players were causing tension. Are you one of these I think I know it all people because if you are you will not last to long around here.

I just don't buy this "Wants to be the man" or "Wants more shots" bullshit, if that's the case why would he say he wants to play for the Spurs or Wolves? Pop won't allow selfishness and Wolves would have 3 stars, hardly the place for Kyrie to be the main man.

Kyrie is, without question, in the top 15 players in the NBA and locked in for three more years. Cavs fans want to talk about what he's not because he has one foot out the door, but he is likely the third to fourth best point guard in the NBA.

It's wise for the Cavs to demand a lot back because it's a point guard's league and elite young point guards are rarely available. Unproven young guys from other teams who have never even played an All Star game or playoff game are completely in play. Several of them and maybe the Cavs are breaking even. If I ran the Cavs, I'd keep Kyrie if I'm not getting value this summer. Fuck his dumb egomaniac ass for demanding a trade without any leverage.

Agreed, I think Kyrie has crazy value and is underrated around here, dude averages 30 in the freaking finals against the best defense in the NBA! while shooting with crazy efficiency.

Tell me about another PG in the NBA that can average 30 against the Warriors while being 47/42/90, Yes he plays no defense and hes not a passer or a leader, but that crazy scoring is unheard of, if we only had a real coach that actually taught defense and some good defenders and one rim protector on the roster Kyrie and LeBron would've taken down the Durant Warriors by themselves.

I'm Curious, what do you think is the top end offer we could get for Kyrie, like best case scenario but also realistic, do you think we could some how land a AD level player if we involve other teams and send some more pieces? I know its a long shot but crazy trades happened before in the NBA, and I definitely think Kyrie is easily worth a top 10-20 player in return, dude is only 25 and already an offensive superstar.

Kyrie is locked up for 2 years (3rd year is an option). I sure as hell hope the FO isn't panicking as much as this thread is. The cavs better not trade him this season unless it's a complete trade rape.

Kyrie and Shump for Bledsoe and Booker is my kind of rape...

I didn't say a thing about Windhorst.

And I define try as try. When you try to do something it means your active in that something, you give effort, you seek.

Someone calling up the Cavs and offering something for Irving and the Cavs saying no doesnt come close. A team should listen to every offer on every player. You never know when someone might lose their minds and offer the entire house.

For an example of a team trying to trade a player, see the Cleveland Cavaliers and Kevin Love.
