No matter how much we hate Kyrie right now, saying IT is remotely close to Kyrie is asinine.
I agree with you, however, the NBA sports writers by making IT all NBA 3rd team would disagree with you

I think IT could at least run the team when Lebron goes to the bench.

Right Rose and IT Can both run offense and be play makers better that KI who went back to a lot of hero ball last year.

Fuck IT.

This could sour me on Dan Gilbert, if this is his fucking Napoleonic short player obsession talking. Hell, let's just trot Felder and IT out there together, Gilbert will be creaming himself.

Sorry, but there are just some comparisons where stats don't tell the whole story. IT bloated his status by chucking up 20 shots a game on a team that really had no legitimate 2nd scorer. Kyrie is a top 3-5 PG for most everyone. IT is maybe a top 10 to half of them... not to mention what do we do when he wants a max? Getting IT has to mean he is a 1 year rental. So if we don't get Brown, this pick better be the Brooklyn pick.

Huh? Kyrie put up more shots per game last year then I.T.? And just like you said, I.T. was the only scoring option?

Believe it means the Celtics have to send out that much...

Why doesn't he just say that? All I know is I put IT, Crowder, and Jalen Brown which is ~18 million in the trade machine and it failed. It would be nice to know the reasoning for that.

Yep. Despite being the 'only scoring option' he actually averaged .2 points more per field goal attempt than Kyrie did. So being the focal point of opposing defenses, he was more efficient than Kyrie.

We could do a lot worse than this deal. I'd rather keep Kyrie in the end but doesn't seem likely.

I'm not a huge fan of Thomas, but I would love this deal.

I mean if this is best we can do... I guess but that Nets pick must be in this.

Points per shot in 2016-17:

Thomas (1.49)
Irving (1.27)

Clearly Thomas didn't just bloat his stats by taking more shots. He was actually more efficient.

Once again, stats don't tell the story. And you have to consider their roles on their teams. Anyhow, no stats will change my mind that comparing them to being "close" is asinine. I would hope you agree that saying they are close is the minority opinion. Kyrie may be bad at defense but IT makes Harden look like a 1st team defender.

The 2018 draft is loaded. I would love to have a top five pick in next years draft.

OR, Kyrie ONLY scored .2 less than the a main offensive threat despite being surrounded by 2 all-stars who averaged 20 ppg or more.

It truly takes a "special" person to make an argument for Isaiah "Quit because I'm shook" Thomas over Kyrie Irving.
