I think it's anger. Kyrie is an asshole. But it's so frustrating and irritating to watch what a player like him can do on a functional organization. He himself hasn't even played that great yet, or has changed that much of his game.
Although he is playing much better defense. Hell, who'd have thunk a team with Kyrie Irving could be number one in defense?
A coach can plug his style of play in and they look better. I don't think they're really this good, and reality will come crawling back, because at the end of the day it comes down to talent. I don't think Boston has it, but still, very impressive how they can overachieve.
A team led by Kyrie Irving, without a sure number two guy on the roster. With two 20 year olds in the lineup, Al Horford, as the second best player, can get off to such an impressive start.
It was the same thing with LeBron in Miami. He was already super great, but when he left Cleveland, even he turned into a different player. Did things he just didn't do here...
Just nice to see what a real culture, stability, and a coach can do to guys like this.
Yet here we are, with the best player in the world, and we aren't even at .500.
Sure, LeBron James will take it up to another notch come playoff time. We'll steam roll through the East again, because he's that fucking great.
Still doesn't ignore the elephant in the room. Outside LeBron, the team and system is lost without him.
And we aren't shit without him. Yeah, that can win us the East. Because LeBron is that great.
But, it won't get us a title, and it won't sell LeBron on why we need him to stay so badly either.
That's why I, and I think others are getting pretty damn gloom about this season what's to come after.
I don't like to predict shit. But I see literally no reason why LeBron would want to come back here, outside this sentimental Akron/Cleveland connection.
Kyrie gone. The young talent/upside star player that was the only link to have maybe kept him here.
Love is 29 and on the decline. IT is currently injured, will be 29, and on a one year deal.
We don't look good enough, at all, to honestly win a title. Feels so much like his last stint in Cleveland. A bunch of old/washed up players like Rose and Wade, like Z and Shaq then, and quick fixes that prove to not be enough.
Yeah, we've seen that movie before. So funny how this organization continues to repeat itself over and over.
