I didn't think he was either. You and I were in here agreeing left and right.

But if they get to 60 wins, which is plausible, and the top of the west is a jumble, and the Cavs are their normal 50-win selves... he'll have a strong case just because of the narrative.

I still don’t see a world where the Celts win 8-10 more games than the Cavs. They’d need to be the #1 overall seed in the league by a lot and he’d have to get to like 27-6 on 62% TS or something like that.

I feel like Kyrie is trying to sound like LeBron in some of his on-court interviews. Talking about "unbelievable resilience" and "going out there and playing until exhausted."

Celtics with the 2 biggest bullshit wins of the year, and we aren't even to January

Kyrie is playing well, and so are the Celtics. I still think he's just a tier 2 player. He falls toward the back pack of great players IMO. And I'm a fan of his game, even if I don't like him personally.

MVP players are LeBron James, Steph Curry, Kawhi Leonard, and Kevin Durant type players.

His numbers and impact just doesn't come close to those type of players.

Are we really just going to start awarding the MVP to the best player, on the team with the best record/team we want to prop up the most now?

Al Fuckin' Horford's fat ass should have won when the Hawks won 60 games, and got ass fucked by LeBron's 53 win team in 4 games, without 2 all-stars, if we're going by that metric.

Season win total in the NBA just isn't all that telling at times. It's just a poor metric.

If that's what it takes to win MVP, then we need a different and better award.

Stephen curry won that year, and his team finished with the best record.

Careful now. Facts and all.

And btw Godfather its happened before.

Derrick rose won it cause his team record.

You think Boston has a chance of finishing ahead of GS and Houston though? I don’t.

Even if they finish behind those two teams only ..Curry, KD and Harden will all have better stats and better records.

Rose is regarded as the worst MVP ever though. He won in a year where Bron was never gonna get it for non basketball reasons.

There weren’t really other suitors either. This year there’s like 5 guys that have been way better than Kyrie. And even a guy like Russ is starting to come on strong.

Plus Kyrie isn’t even having as good of a year as Rose did. He has more help. It’s not likely the Celts win 60 games either IMO

I think if boston finishes within a couple games of those two teams, he could have a shot.

I should note that I didn't say he WILL win it, just that he'll be back in the conversation.

I’ve noticed you’ve been avoiding godfathers question

Kyrie on resting during games-

“It’s definitely a learning experience for me because that’s a time where I was afforded when I was in Cleveland to be able to kind of tell (Tyronn) Lue and tell the other coaches, ‘I’m ready to go in.’ And that was kind of on my end. And coming into the environment I’m in with (Celtics head coach) Brad (Stevens), and understanding his intellect of the game, and being able to trust what we have going on, and what’s going on throughout the game — not that I didn’t trust what was going on before, but for me it’s just been where I have to be patient, and my impact on the game is felt a little bit different. So there are some times where I want to push the pedal to the metal and go back out there and just — but whatever’s needed, I’m willing to do for the team.”

Interesting. A coach that doesn't bend over and do whatever the star players want. Not going to say i'm surprised one bit.

The bias towards Boston is real. Even Harden can't escape it.

15 fts though. Nevertheless, if you what say is true it's taking away from both teams (or more like one player from one of the teams) which I'm more than fine with. :chuckle:
