2017 Browns Off Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah Davis was getting phased out of Williams' scheme, so adding depth to the secondary isn't terrible.

Hopefully he can't beat out Peppers and makes an impact on special teams or as a rotational guy.

Seems like a win win for both sides. Jets have a bad off ball linebacker group, Browns have a bad safety group.

Both teams get something for guys they were likely to release in final cuts.

Who is going to play middle linebacker now though?

Going to be tough for him to play MLB and fullback but he is about the only guy I trust to.
It is certainly a tough job. Not even Owen Marecic could make it happen.

Have read some talk by media on twitter that Pryor is being brought in for the infamous "Mark Barron" role and that this will allow Peppers to slide back to SS or play the Lamarcus Joyner role, which I am not all that familiar with.

I love this guy, and I love this pick.

Hillis and Marecic could be a deadly combination

Pretty clear Vickers won't be back. Marecic is tough though. Fits the WCO better. Marecic and Hillis will be a wrecking crew in the backfield.

I thought he was taken too early, but the more I thought about his intangibles and the fact the 49ers wanted him, I understand taking him a little high. The Dawg Pound will love him.

We draft a guy who started at middle linebacker and fullback for a team that finished the year ranked in the top 5 and people are pissed. I don't get that at all. Here's what Harbaugh says about the kid:

Yeah, I'll take my chances with a fourth round pick on this kid.

Special teams for 1 year then released

We gotta stop some of the misinformation here in this thread and on this board.

Mark Barron did not play some crazy hybrid role for the Rams. He played weakside linebacker last year. That was his position 100% of the time. Weakside linebacker. He started out as a strong safety, wasn't good in that role. Then he went to nickel and wasn't good in that role and eventually the Rams tried him at weakside linebacker early in 2015 after Olgetree got hurt. Barron was so good as a WLB that when Olgetree came back, they moved him to MLB.

Barron is now is listed as a linebacker. He's on the depth chart as a linebacker. He's a linebacker.

That role on the Browns, according to his own words, is set to be filled by Christian Kirksey next season.

Is there any interest in/realistic chance of signing Maclin?
