2017 Browns Regular Season

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Some shitty play by Rodgers and getting shit on by the Falcons makes todays loss feel not as bad. A lot of teams got their asses kicked worse than us today.

We all knew the WR position was weak. So did the FO, and they spent a first round pick on a pass catching TE (who had a TD today), and spent a first round pick last year on PFF's top WR. They also traded for a WR and picked up two guys on waivers. They are trying, but it is glaring at the moment. Pryor Sr. isn't exactly lighting it up for WAS, but wow Britt looks like a terrible signing.

I think guys like Coates and the two waiver guys need some more practice with DK. Nice of Higgins to step up. Of the INTs, Hogan made a terrible decision, Duke needs to catch that pass, and Kizer just made a bad throw on the third. (I missed the fourth).

I was quite sure we would be starting 0-2. No surprises so far. I think the next 10 games are winnable. I expect us to get 4 or 5 of them and to beat Chicago and end up at 5-11. Let's not give up hope yet. Today was a tough situation on the schedule and a bad day for the guys.

Feel like Wide Receivers have played with broken hands before. Maybe that's on good teams with something to play for or something.

Jim Abbott was missing a whole leg and he was fine.
That was Monty Stratton! Jim Abbott had half a right arm, but two reg'lar legs.

And none of those teams are the youngest in the league with the youngest QB. It's totally understandable why we look the way we look but why are the Seahawks struggling to score TD's? The Giants refuse to address their running game. Jason Garrett threw Dak under the bus in his post game comments today. There are plenty of teams who were expected to be good who are making dumb as decisions. They really have no excuse. The youth, inexperience, and lack of talent in some aspects are plenty of reasons why our team is struggling. What's the excuse for those other teams?

The Ravens since 1999
-2 Super Bowls
-4 AFC Championship apperances
-4 Division titles
-10 Playoff apperances
-3 DPOTY award winners (One of which still plays for them)
-2 Super Bowl MVP's (One of which is their QB)

The Steelers since 1999
-2 Super Bowls
-3 AFC Championships
-6 AFC Championship appearances
-8 Division titles
-11 Playoff apperances
-3 DPOTY (One of which still plays for them)
-2 Super Bowl MVP's
-2 Coaches of the year (One of which still coaches for them)

And it pains me to even type these damn facts up. It SUCKS. But I mean...that's the reputation of our first two opponents.

This...is not something that's going to clear up over night. This isn't like some weird random NFC West or NFC South division where's the some sort vacuum that exists in which any random ass team in those can likely stumble into a division title.

Eventually those two teams I typed above will decline, and eventually we will dig ourselves out. But...these teams still are in striking distance of adding more accolades to their reputation while we're currently trying to make this team find very basic things in the NFL. Like..you know...Coach, Quarterback, GM, etc.

I think we also need to put some blame on Hue Jackson. He has gotten a pass so far, but he is 1-17, and let's be honest, his playcalling, clock management, and challenges have been bad this year.

He's starting to get the "worn down Browns coach" look to him as well. We need a non-preseason win badly.

CoCo and Collins out will make it tough, but I really see no reason we can't come out with a win in Indy this week.

All doom and gloom in here because we started 0-2 against the Steelers and the Ravens, a Super Bowl contender and a team with one of the best defenses in the league. Not sure what everyone else was expecting.

One thing to be doom and gloom about is our lack of weapons on offense. Coleman goes down with a broken hand (draft an injury prone college player, have an injury prone NFL player) Britt looks like he cares more about cashing checks than playing, and Crowell is off to his worse start as a Brown. Kizer is going to make his mistakes but he certainly isn't getting any help from anyone.

Njoku looks like he's going to be a nice player though. Our D is still playing at a very high level but stealing a win these next two weeks would be nice for team morale.

Hate to even entertain the thought because i know better but Josh Gordon would help us quite a bit if he actually has his head on straight. That's a big IF. @Los216 you seem to be one of the only guys that has yet to blaze their JG jersey in the dumpster. I hope your optimism is on point.

It's really do or die for Crow and Britt this week. No reason for either of them to not perform.

These next 4 games are pretty damn important for how I view him.

I've given him a pass so far, and objectively, much of it is deserved.

But he's really gotta start getting some wins. 0-6 or even 1-5 isn't acceptable.

Tend to agree. I understand getting beat by Baltimore and Pittsburgh. Those teams are far better than the Browns.

If we lose to teams like the Colts and Jets, I'm gonna be pissed.

Right. At some point, the inexperience of the team needs to stop being used as an excuse. This QB coach/OC/head coach dance might simply be too much on Hue with so many young guys who demand attention.

On a side note, I'm not optimistic about anything Josh Gordon may bring to the table, if reinstated. That guy's morale levels are so volatile that he may just be Kenny Britt 2.0 out there if things don't go tremendously immediately for him.

i really think the pre-season absolutely ruined this team for a bunch of posters. There is a reason the over/under for wins this season for the browns was 4. This is not a good football team, and combine that with the youngest QB ever to start week 1 and you have recipe for a very poor start.

The time to judge this team is not after 2 games against difficult opponents to start the season, the time to judge this team, the players, and the coaches is down the stretch of the season and after it.

I don't think people are super mad that we lost, just ... I mean, the way they looked yesterday was definitely a step back. Five turnovers and the HORRIBLE (I can't stress this enough, it was dreadful) mismanagement at the end of the half from the coach all the way down to how the team played. I mean, fuck, that was a huge swing and the Browns never recovered. Not to mention penalties.

The Ravens are way better, I get it. But damn, is progress too much to ask for?

I mean the stats I listed above kinda tell the tale really.

Now that Peyton has retired we are down to 3 immovable objects in the AFC, but still...you're going against two of the best organizations in modern professional football. You are not going to win games against those guys with a young team and a young QB right now. Maybe in a few years...but not right now.

This SUCKS typing this by the way. It annoys me as a Browns fan. I know the Cavs and Tribe spoil us, but damn.
