2017 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So Miller's knee had a flareup?

They need to sit him down for a couple more weeks- as long as this lead stays relatively the same, there's no reason to rush this guy back.

Same for Brantley- they have the luxury of some time.

Tendinitis always scares the shit out of me

It can just linger and linger and linger. Brantley scared me last year and now I'm starting to get real nervous about Miller

About time to bring the last out back up. Bold and Beefy.

This team, when healthy, is far better than the 90's teams. We're actually balanced, with arguably the best pitching in baseball.

We all wanted that all-star, hall-of-fame stacked lineup to win a World Series. We all expect this team to.
That 95 team had the best pitching, hitting, and fielding in baseball that year. I still have news paper articles from that year and heading into the playoffs and no one thought anyone was even going to remotely challenge tgat team. No this team is not better

1995 Indians:

Offense:
1st in R, H, AVG, OBP, OPS, HR
3rd in 2B
4th in SB
Last in Ks

Pitching:
3rd inERA (can't figure out how to separate SP from RP on Baseball Reference)
2nd in SP WAR
2nd RP WAR
10th in K/9
7th in FIP
3rd in WHIP
T12th in Complete Games
T4th in Shutouts

Defense:
5th in DEF efficiency

So that 95 team blows this team out of the water.

That team won 100 games in strike shorten season

100-44, basically what the Dodgers are doing now, we did then. Man, I wish I wasn't 4 years old so I could enjoy that team.

Extrapolated to a 162-game season is 112 wins.

The failure of the '95 Indians to win the World Series was basically what turned me into a Cleveland sport cynic at a young age. That was the team of my childhood and their success made the city seem like the sport mecca of America.

Hate to get dark here but after that, the '97 fiasco, '07 and last fall the Indians more than any other team exemplifies Cleveland sports misery for me. The Browns have been pitiful for so long that they never threaten to aspire to anything while the Cavs have at least won something. But the Indians are the team that always breaks your heart because they get so close.

Let's not forget the 1994 season.

Salzar (elbow) and Miller (knee) to DL, shit

This has to be the most banged up team in the league. 6 weeks before the playoffs? Not good.

I like the Czar a lot. He's one of my favorite players. But between his inconsistencies and injuries he is really hard to count on

This organization is fucking cursed. I'm convinced this team will just never be healthy. Shame.

Better now than then.

Keep these 2 out for a month and then get them going.

Injuries are across the league, Twins lost their bopper, Cubs lost Lester, Dodgers are still without Kershaw, A-Gon, Turner was banged up too.

No woe is me here, we still got this. Danny and Andrew will be back. Brantley and Lonnie are close. Include Tomlin.
