Is Brantley out for season?
Im speculating so. The guy has been on the 10 DL since 8/9, hasnt done flat ground or agility workouts, no timetable...I would assume we aren't counting on him. If he happens to come back, it is what it is.

Edit: He still wears a walking boot.

Sure seems like it. Guy has been hurt forever and team is rolling. If he comes back what are they gonna do just throw him right in there for the postseason?

Anybody would want to throw Michael Brantley's bat in a lineup. I figured Tribe was saving him until the last few series where he can play and gather timing like he would on a minor league assignment.

If Greg Allen makes the postseason roster and creates a moment for himself, or just being a key cog in a WS run, add him to the list of players that skip AAA and head right to the MLB.

I mean, maybe they experiment with Kipnis in CF being that the last 2 weeks of the season will have little meaning other than AL Home Field.

Playing him in CF in the playoffs is a completely different story.

He's still not pain free. I mean, that's step 1. He hasn't done any exercising on flat ground yet. Get him on flat ground and you at least have a timetable if everything goes perfectly, i.e. no setbacks, but we're not even there yet.

Played CF in college. Just like riding a bike.... I hope.

I think they said on this weekends broadcast that they were hoping Brantley would be back maybe the last week of the season? I dont think he's done?

There are interesting quotes out, Kipnis says there were times he joked with Brant and Chis that he was the best CF on the team, and he could play there in his sleep, he says it's time to wake up and go play.

Also, a beat writer says he was shagging fly balls and making sliding catches.

Its not ideal, but if we have gotten away with Santana in the OF. However, I find it hard to believe Kipnis isn't atleast adequate.

That's a good rehab exercise

Hope it's not the same beat writer who said Brantley was taking some cuts off Miller during his sim game when it was actually Erik Gonzalez....
