2017 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Been meaning to post this for a couple of weeks now. I'm pretty sure Tyler Olson has been tipping his pitches. It sure hasn't mattered at all. I'll go along with Jordan Bastian who refers to him as Tyler 0.00lson. But you hear stories all the time about players being able to pick up a pitcher tipping pitches fairly regularly.

I noticed this way back in the Boston series in late August, and EVERY single outing since then that I've watched on TV it's the same. Been waiting for opportunity to screenshot it while watching on my computer.

Also, I'm not sure how visible this is from the batter's box. I imagine it would be, but nobody has picked up on it. It's a fairly distinct difference for the two pitches, so I'd think it'd be visible from there. Olson also uses a full windup so this is irrelevant in those situations. But he's brought in with guys on quite regularly.

Lastly, this is mostly only the case for when Olson faces lefties (which is the vast majority of the time). That's because Olson uses a changeup to righties fairly regularly, and there's no difference in set position between his fastball and changeup as there is with the curveball.
Do you have a screenshot of McAllister tipping his pitch?

Dodgers magic number over us is down to 2, and they only have 4 games left. Unlikely we catch them now.

Magic number over Houston is still 4. Houston has a 4 game series at Fenway starting tomorrow. Luckily, Boston still has a magic number of 3 over NY, so Boston will probably have to win at least one game in that series. Hopefully, they at least split.

Miller has now allowed 2 base runners in 4 of his 6 appearances. 1.59 WHIP. And one of the non-occurrences was a 2 pitch-1 batter appearance.

Luckily he hasn't allowed any runs, but need him to be the dominant force he is once October hits.

I'm not too worried about Miller, but some for sure took for granted his absurd walk rate last year. I don't think it's sustainable.

2016:
9 BB in 74.1 IP - 1.09 BB/9 - 1st in MLB of 135 qualified RP

2017:
21 BB in 60.1 IP - 3.13 BB/9 - 69th (#nice) in MLB of 155 qualified RP

Still about average and I expect him to improve there. He still has a .147 opponents BA, 5th best in that same group of relievers. And he's 10th in WHIP.

If you purposely said "pitch" instead of "pitches", then that's hilarious lol.

TBF, all of his hits he has given up have been singles and that's with a BABIP of .500. His 4 walks in that time frame is disturbing, but also 11 strikeouts. Seems like batters are making weak contact, if at all, and just finding some holes.

Yeah did a 180 after reading this

“Tonight was really good,” Callaway said with a hint of a smile, followed by an audible sigh made up of delight and pure glee.

“The stuff was good. The break on the slider. Obviously the velo was there. He felt really good. You could just see it, the conviction behind the pitches, the way he was using his body. It was really good, very encouraging.”

Miller struck out the side in the seventh inning, working around two seeing-eye singles that featured hit probabilities of 37 and 13 percent, according to MLB Statcast. But perhaps the most encouraging sign — outside of the four total swinging-strikes he recorded with his typically lethal slider — was the velocity jump from his previous appearances.

On Tuesday, Miller's four-seamer averaged 95.3 mph. He maxed out at 96.4 mph. Those totals are on par with his normal velocity in the past two seasons, and maybe most important, he looked more than comfortable doing it, throwing 13 of the 17 offerings for strikes.

“That’s by far the best he’s looked,” manager Terry Francona said. “It’s another really good step for him.”

Yes, I did.

A. @sportscoach was right about Tito having a hard-on for Tomlin

B. Tito has his head up his ass for sending Clevenger to the bullpen and starting Tomlin. And yes, I know Tito forgot more about baseball than I'll never know, but this is a miss.

I understand wanting Clevinger to come out of the pen, because Tomlin would be worthless there. The problem is, by starting Tomlin, they guarantee that they will need a long man for his starts anyway. Too bad Salazar isn't much better, or they could have one of the two start and leave Tomlin at home.

Then Tomlin should be left off the roster.

Clevenger has a 3.16 ERA and has been really good for a couple of months straight. Having him pitch one or two in in out of the bullpen is a waste of his talent.

I see he is already supposed to start Sunday. I really hope this decision doesn't make us say "what if" in November.

I don't know what's going on over there but you need to fix your freakin internet bruh

Can we eliminate Shaw in critical situations vs great teams? (Playoff teams)
