2017 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Meaning a rookie over all the OFs they currently have on the roster.

One of your bigger issues here thus far is your inability to understand what other people are saying to you.

At this point, you're not even arguing with any of the points I made. Just talking in circles about the same point over and over again.

Zimmer being on the post-season roster, or being a major part of this years team, is not my expectation.

You took that a step further to say the outfield is set, which I've shown you, is not true.

So...to bring things full circle for you. My expectation is that Chisenhall and Naquin produce as hoped. If that doesn't happen, Zimmer will be taking the short trip to Cleveland if his play continues to dictate he's ready.

You literally saw this exact same thing happen with Naquin last year, now you're trying to prove to everyone here that it won't happen to Zimmer based on...I don't know...your gut or some shit.

I think Zimmer will come up at some point this year, but I honestly don't see the issue you guys are taking with Sportscoach. He could be right. I don't see them moving on from Guyer, Chizz, or a healthy brantley. That leaves only a regression from Naquin or poor play from Jackson as his only real options (outside of injury) to make the team.

Now, I think one of those things will happen, and he'll be up. But its not a stretch to believe that he might not until at least September.

To me the OF is set because Jackson, Guyer, Almonte will all be bench guys, so they have no effect on Zimmer getting to the pros. Chisenhall for better or for worse will be on this roster barring injury, even if he isn't having a strong season. Naquin is still a question mark, but if he fails this season then it's likely he will never amount to anything in his career again. Yes I am going with my hunches on guys a bit, but Chisenhall and Naquin aren't going to fail, so Zimmer in my mind won't make the team.

I expect Jackson to fizzle out by June and Zimmer to steadily take ABs away from Naquin/Almonte. Brantley will hopefully be fine, and I'm excited for the Lonnie/Guyer platoon.

This team will win over 100 games without adding Zimmer to the roster. If Naquin ends up in the minors it's because he cannot make the adjustments and is not cut out mentally to be a big leaguer. He won't improve a whole lot potentially over last season numbers, but this team is the best in baseball and we are debating over the guys who will bat at the bottom of the order.

Opening day lineup: Santana, Lindor, Brantley, EE, Ramirez, Gomes, Chisenhall/Guyer, Naquin/Jackson, Diaz

Likely when Kipnis comes back lineup:
Kipnis, Lindor, Brantley, EE, Ramirez, Gomes, Chisenhall/Guyer, Naquin/Jackson, Diaz.

Plus our starting staff and one of the deepest bullpens. We are sending a guy with an 11 game hitting streak to the minors in Almonte to start the season. And we have some of the best starting pitching depth of any team in the majors. I'd be very surprised if we don't hit that 100 win mark. The guys want to be back in the world series.

Is Willy Mo going make or accept the Clippers roster?

That man is a house. Was told when i went to the game Willy Mo was there as a favor to EE and that he will go back to Japan to make allot more money than he would make in the minors.

He is loved in Japan, have funny shirts for him and everything.

Of course this was told to me 2 weeks ago and things do change.

Either way, the Indians have the best team in baseball and this thread is about them and our agreements/disagreements about them. Whether or not Zimmer is on the team, this team will be the one to beat

Any idea what he was doing last year? He didn't play anywhere, even in Japan, wasn't sure if he was hurt or what. I just assumed he was here for spring training to show, well, any team anywhere that he could still play.

You are just setting your expectations too high. They aren't going to win 100 games. :chuckle: Maybe, MAYBE on paper they have the ability to, but this is baseball, and any of the good baseball minds on this board will tell you nobody knows what the fuck is going to happen over the course of this season.

That said, they won't even need to come close to winning 100 games to win the division...on paper.

Then stop wasting your time responding to my posts.

Your posts are opinionated just like mine are since we are both going by the logic that makes sense to us. You just feel Zimmer will have some impact on the team with some ABs this season and I believe he won't have any at bats at all and will be a non-factor since there is no place for him to get everyday at bats

This is now the third time I've had to remind you that's not what I'm arguing.

If you don't know what the other person is even saying, don't respond to their posts arguing with them. Good rule of thumb to follow.

No idea, the knowledge i have was from a more knowledgeable baseball fan than I who goes to every Cleveland spring training game etc.

But your guess seems good, they had him in for spring training to show case him, i thought for other major league teams, but it could have been for Japanese teams too.

I read your posts, you disagree with me saying that the OF was set and I did explain why I felt that way that was logical and not just gut.

I agree with the fact that Zimmer is on the short list for OFs and could be called up. I am not saying he won't, but as long as Brantley, Naquin and Chisenhall are healthy and have decent years we will not see Zimmer because he is a left handed bat that should get everyday ABs. I know Chisenhall and Naquin are not all that amazing numbers wise, but they likely won't chance bringing up Zimmer and seeing if he does better if Naquin and Chisenhall are batting above the .250 mark. Also we know Zimmer will platoon his first season or two in the pros, so unless there is a starting spot open, he will not be up.

But also to my hunches Jackson is playing for his career, if he has a bad season, he is done, but if he has a good year, then he will have money coming his way. So he has a lot riding on this season and I think will do just fine. Naquin has a lot to prove and also his pride is on the line since I know part of him probably hates how he played in the playoffs and wants to prove he wasn't a fluke. He also has been working with Sizemore a lot in the offseason so hopefully that helps him.
