2017 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
And those 5 are the reason the other 10 don't post much.

To be honest, it's not worth the time to explain to someone who isn't even being serious why a 2 game deficit in June isn't the worst of times.
Are you talking about me? I know it's not the worst of times. But I'm actually worried about the team. That pretty much starts with the starters. The reason I viewed us as favorites preseason is because I thought we had the best 1-2-3 in baseball. Carassco and Kluber are a fine duo but Salazar falling off the planet makes us a much weaker team. That's what makes me worried

We're so fortunate our division is what it is. If you wanna hang your hat on that, then so be it.

This should be the last time we see the Indians 1 game over with this talent pool. So it could be the worst of times, record wise.

By the way, this is all coming from a guy that mocks posters and discourages their stance 9 times out of 10. And you wanna talk why people don't post? I'm happy the coach stands his ground. He could've easily been a victim and stopped posting.

My problem to. Just not worth it to get into the same argument with the same posters season after season. And the active posters in here talk about the same shit all the time.

The odds of the current conversation being one of these is always high:

Santana sux
Dolanz r cheep
Team no good, didn't win this 1 game
Bauer is garbage
Tomlin is so good, as he gives up another 4 run 1st inning
Sarcastic, "Don't worry, it's only [insert early season month here], we should worry in [insert next year here]"
Oh no, attendance

It's become obvious to me that certain posters, no matter how many stats, facts, trends, splits, whatever are posted in here, they are just set on their ideas and refuse to be flexible with them...so its not worth the headache for me.

Why I'd rather post in the minors thread since they stay out of that one.

If you are talking about me, them you don't read my posts at all, since I said they would win 100 games and I am still not worried about this team since they will right the ship. They have too much talent and heart not to fix the issues, we just need a strong 7-8 game win streak and this team will just keep rolling. We will be fine at the end of the day.

I am worried about Salazar since something isn't physically right with his arm and hasn't been all year. Hopefully a DL stint and some minor league games will get him right. The offense hasn't supported Tomlin when he is pitching well and Bauer needs to stop his mind and let his training do the work. He has been better of late and I think here soon he will start getting more quality starts.

My biggest issues has been all season is getting the hit with runners in scoring position. To many games of 1-9 type of numbers. We cannot win alone on HRs so we gotta get the clutch hits. The Indians are in the bottom half of baseball in nearly all offensive categories, but in the top half of baseball with their pitching numbers.

No the starters haven't lived up to expectations, but the hitters aren't doing their jobs right now since the starters have been much better lately, but we cannot expect any pitcher to win unless we get much better production top to bottom from this offense. EE, Brantley and Kipnis seem to be hitting, outside of also our RH OF guys, no one else lately is. You cannot win with so few guys hitting in the lineup. Lindor is at .254 and started the season above .300. Unless the offense fixes it's issues then we aren't going to win.

Bauer gives up 2, Robertson AND Roberto go yard and the Tribe lose. Disappointing game for the bullpen.

It has been a really rough month for our "Top 6". Santana and Lindor way under .200, Kipnis .212, Jose .211, Brantley .235. Edwin the lone bright spot at .308. I'd consider ourselves lucky to be 4-6 in the month with that production.

Starting Friday we play Minnesota 7 times in a 10 day span, with a 4 game road series vs Baltimore in between who have really struggled since mid-May. This is the team's chance to not only take the division lead, but to start to put games between themselves and Minnesota & Detroit. I can say I am worried for the Saturday double header that will feature Clev and Merritt starting being that neither will likely go more than 5ish innings pitched and what that means for our bullpen.

Clevinger will go 5-6 innings and Merritt actually can pitch all day since he does average 6 innings per start in the minors. I am not worried about those two. I am worried about the hitting and them doing their jobs, which like ya said they aren't.

As an outsider who doesn't post a lot, I do think people tend to shy away from making comments in fear of getting blasted and feeling like an idiot. With that said, If more people would just give their take and not make into a big confrontation if someone disagrees, an all Indians board could work.
Also, Santana does suck.

Dont think you are talking about me, but nice convo starter, lol

  • Santana doesnt suck, but I think with EE signed for 3 years and some real bat talent trying to make the jump from the minors he is gone next year as EE is a better version of him. (although doesnt wal as much)
  • Dolanz spent money this off season, they are willing to spend when they think they can win it all. They are not cheap.
  • team has had up and downs this year for sure, but talent is there to win it all
  • Bauer is a million dollar arm with a $2 head. But he is young and has extreme arm talent, not garbage
  • Tomlin is likeable but has no arm talent, still think he is a great long reliever, emergency starter in a perfect scenario.
  • It is starting get time to be a bit concerned to me, we should be in first in this awful division, lucky we are still close the way we have been playing.
  • Attendance should be complained about more. It embarrassing considering this is a team coming off a WS appearance.

Contract year and performing like utter crap. Big reason why we are where we are.

Dolanz r cheep
No one has said that in months

Haven't seen in weeks
Bauer is garbage
Bauer is fucking garbage

Definitely not you.

But I am going to say the same thing I said to someone who was convinced Santana was going to hit sub .200 a few seasons ago because he was under .200 most of the 1st half of the season...guarantee his end of the season numbers look similar to his career numbers...the way it usually goes.

FYI, finished that 2014 season with a .792 OPS after hitting .207 pre-All-Star break.

As for the attendance. I agree its not where most of us want it right now. But averaging 3,000 more per game already before our boon season where attendance increases (usually June through August). Expecting the average to be up over 25K by this time in August, which would be a 6-7 K per game increase, which is pretty damn good. Would be a half million more fans than last season. Gotta start somewhere, and we were starting from the bottom.

Over exaggerations.

And Bauer isn't garbage. How anyone can say that with a straight face and then expect me to take them seriously is besides me.

And I haven't seen the b00bs mention attendance once this year, but I've also missed most of it.

And why is me saying I'm not worrying now considered snark? Literally the only time I said that I just said I am waiting to panic when its mid July and we are seeing the same shit...I guess that's snark because I am not conforming with the current temperature of the board?
