Oh, yay. More fuel for the hot take brigade.

And right off the bat we get a SCORCHING hot take! It's obvious Watson does not want to play for Cleveland if this report is true. its clear as day when they ask him and he declined. His gamble on declining is to serve 2 purposes.
1. A point to tell that Browns to leave him alone.
2. Keep his stock where it is for other teams.
If he wanted to get drafted by the number 1 or the 12th pick, he would have to visit the Browns regardless but this is a message to the Browns to leave him alone. I expect him to decline every Browns request if they continue to bother him. clear as day.

This is an Organization in the NFL with the #1 overall pick and the #12 overall pick calling you up personally to ask you to join them so they can evaluate you directly. This guy turned down Hue Jackson directly out of fear of injury..This is your potential future employer and you turn them down and the only reason is "potential" injury? This was a guy that was a projected 2nd rounder late 1st rounder a few weeks ago and a QB guru in the NFL wants to directly work with him and see him in practice and in person and he turned him down..Come on, guys..Thats a slap in the face..So it has nothing to do with risking injury during a pointless game?

So let me explain this in a different way. Its not about the game itself its about the fact that the Browns directly asked him to be there. You're inferring alot based on not alot of context.
Which, is bad.
Watson is well within his right to skip the game, and he and his agent obviously weren't going to be talked out of the decision he made.
Anything beyond that is just you inventing context that isn't proven. Quite frankly it's a waste of time unless you've got more than what's been provided.
Meeting the player in workouts and "coaching" the player by the "headcoach" in a live game in 2 different things. When did private workouts end? Didn't know the Senior Bowl was the sole way to meet with a player.
So let me explain this in a different way. Its not about the game itself its about the fact that the Browns directly asked him to be there.
Lets say big corporations decided to do a job fair type of deal (Apple, Google, Intel , IBM, etc - Big salary companies looking to hire managers (QBs) and you have managerial experience (QB) in your resume. You were the star of your former company and wants to move up to the big leagues with more pay. But you have other guys with better resumes this time around that you would have to go against. So IBM ( The Browns - once great) saw your resume and "The CEO" Hue Jackson personally called you up and asked you to attend the meeting but you tell him " no thanks". How would IBM and CEO- Hue Jackson feel about you?
Its not the game itself but the fact that the Browns asked him "directly" to attend the Senior bowl so they can personally meet him and Hue can see him in practice, design the gameplan with him as the QB and access him " personally", but he declined..
And this type of attitude is good for a team trying to build a culture. This type of attitude is coming from the "potential" leader of the team ?
So it has nothing to do with risking injury during a pointless game?
I really dont think it has anything to do with the Browns, but everyone can make their own assumptions I guess.
