Exactly what Rob said, we have SO many damn picks, especially in the first 2 rounds this year and next, why risk it and add more? Just take the best prospect since Dennis Northcutt and if you wanna make a deal past there, pick up the phones. Otherwise:

I mean I suppose they could convince themselves that Trubisky is the franchise QB they need and will not be able to get him if they don't take him at 1. I suppose that's possible. I just don't think it's likely. This is silly season and to me sounds like some game strategy. First thing that came to mind when I read this is, they are trying to pump the Trubisky interest up with the hopes that someone moves into the top 10 to ensure Trubisky is off the board by the 12th pick. That will allow 1 more player that they really want, to possibly be on the board at 12.

This logic is nonsense.

We try to bluff SF into thinking we want to take Trubisky #1, meanwhile we turn around and offer them #1 so they can take him instead? Nonsense.

This is simply the media trying to drum up intrigue with an incredibly predictable choice at #1. "Hey it's the Browns! People will totally believe they can fuck this up!"

It'll be Garrett 1st overall and always has been. Nothing has changed.
