What's everyone's thoughts on how good McCaffery will be on the next level?

He needs the right scheme, an unimaginative offense would waste him. If he is used like Tevin Coleman and gets moved from running back to slot to the outside as a receiver to create mismatches, he can be dangerous. He has great speed and great hands, reads his blockers well too.

The Browns should be interested, however they shouldn't pay more than the traditional value chart, most likely less. This isn't a draft with a clear #2 talent, so don't pay like Trubisky is Marcus Mariota. If I'm the Niners, I'm nothing short of desperate to move down and get more picks. Their talent is depleted at just about every position but fullback.

Grossi must love them.

I am not a fan, but i am in the minority it seems

I think he is too straight line and ends up more of a tweener, ie not quite a wr, not quite a rb.

Think if used right he can be decent though.

I agree.

He's not a bell-cow back, and he's not a WR. He's a change-of-pace guy.

I don't hate him, I just wouldn't take him top 40.

Honestly, for a RB/WR mismatch creator, I like Curtis Samuel significantly more. He's much more dynamic.

McCaffrey accounted for 50% of Stanford's offense in one season. The kid is a flat out play maker.

McCaffrey's biggest concern to me is long term stability.

Drafting him is like buying a used car at this point. He was Stanford's offense for much of his collegiate career.

He's gonna be dangerous, no doubt. And a good coach will find out how to use him correctly. Don't just throw him into 3-down back right away.

But as AZ said, let's see how long he holds up.

I would love him, but our other needs early on in the draft are more dire.

I hear you, but that's how a smart offensive coordinator will use him.

I think he can be a starting running back in the NFL and play all-three downs. I don't think he needs to be pigeon holed into just a passing downs role.

He's extremely talented.

I heard some chatter on the radio that certain scouts like McCaffrey's potential so much that he could be drafted in the top ten. Wes Welker / Brian Westbrook / Devonta Freeman comparisons where being thrown around freely. I don't necessarily agree with any of that. Scouts also said that Trent Richardson was the best RB prospect since Adrian Peterson.

Gotta love pre-draft season.
