As a believer in Kizer, I prefer this situation to play out.

We have 12 more games to evaluate Kizer.

Hopefully Collins can return so, i think our defense can be decent with collins, shelton and garret healthy.

A decent D will help our offense and take some pressure of Kizer.

I really am hoping Kizer works out, just makes the 2018 draft that much better.

I still think its unrealistic. However, it's way more unrealistic that we sign all of:
1. Freeman
2. Hopkins
3. Eifert
4. Trumaine Johnson
5. Kam Chancelor

Let alone a single one of them. I like your optimism, though.

That is how much cap space we will have though in free agency when it comes to next season which was mostly my point. Eifert and Trumaine actually aren't stretches to sign since one was apart of Hue's offense and the other was apart of Williams defense. So signing those two at least plausible.

We can be the highest bidder on free agent guys of we wish to so don't count us out trying to get guys. We have the money in cap space and the trade assets to do just about anything next season. We will have 50+ mil dollars next season to spend if not more. We have 6 picks and easily more in the top 65 area of the draft.

I do think we will get a CB/S, WR and another target like an Eifert n free agency.

RB is one of the positions in the draft you can get that can effect a team right away. We will get more secondary and skill offensive positions (RB,WR) in the draft. I actually wouldn't be surprised to see us get S, CB, 2 RBs and 2 WRs with our 6 picks depending on what we do in free agency.

I just wish we could find a way to get more playmakers on this team so we have some semblance of a measuring stick to predict Kizer's success in the NFL.

I know it's a long shot but i wish we could swing a trade for a player like Braxton Miller. He may not be able to get in the WR rotation at HOU but he would definitely get time here.

If we don't look better soon, Hue's seat is only going to get hotter. If part of his master plan is to wait for next year's draft, I hope Haslem supports it.

If you weren't an OSU fan you would want nothing to do with the college QB, Braxton Miller

As this team showed last season, they aren't afraid to trade for young talent during the season so I wouldn't be surprised if we trade for another player or two during the season like we did with Collins last season.

Now I don't think Braxton will actually make a difference since like Pryor, he needed some seasoning to switch to a different position. I'd rather wait til he was a free agent than actually trade for him in some ways unless the price is right. (Aka if we can get him for like a 7th round pick the id do it, otherwise anything else would be too much to pay for him)

At the end of the day Hue will have this season without truly be on the hot seat for the most part. It is next season where he is on the hot seat and has to start really winning games. Then the year after that the FO regime will be on the hot seat of year 3 failed.

Outside of Hopkins who was holding Braxton Miller back @Kbiz?

Hopkins is essentially HOU's passing offense this year. It's obvious Watson and him have got something brewing. He has 3X the receptions of anyone else on that team and with Fuller potentially back in the fold, seems Miller is the guy on the outs.

Honestly this wasn't intended to be a homer take. You mean to tell me you don't think Braxton could compete with the likes of Higgins and Louis, from at least an athletic standpoint? I'm not expecting him to turn into some elite WR, I am just saying we need bodies and at this point, have nothing to lose to venture outside the box.

I'll be honest coach and this is going to be a wildly unpopular opinion

If we get the first pick and Kizer more or less looks the same week 17 as he does now, I'm taking Darnold

Dude what the fuck?

It's been proven over and over again YOU CAN'T WIN IN THE NFL WITH A GINGER QB.

Yes, and if he doesnt come out, I dont see a qb I take at 1 and pick BPA or trade back a few spots for someone to over pay for a QB>

How in the actual fuck is Rosen not worth of going #1?

I think he is a better version of Manziel with allot of his flaws. Its an opinion, but talent is not the only thing that matters on qb's.
