The Suns are so bad, Lance freaking Stephenson nearly triple doubled last night. Think about that for a second.

Only a couple weeks into the season and I can't help but think which teams/contenders would be perfect fits for Butler. We all know he's going to get traded, but the problem is many teams aren't going to give up a ton without a long term commitment.

Nonetheless, it's fun to think of possible trade destinations. The one place I think is an absolute perfect destination for him is: New Orleans.

* A Pelicans / Wolves trade:

- Wolves trade: Jimmy Butler, Gorgei Dieng

- Pelicans trade: Solomon Hill, Etwaun Moore, Wesley Johnson, Frank Jackson, 2 1st Round Picks

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine

Why for Minnesota: Minnesota owes Dieng nearly $50 million over the next 3 seasons (counting this one). They get rid of that horrendous contract. Hill and Moore are both expirings next season as their contract ends in the 2019/2020 seasons, so they can be used as expirings in a bigger trade next year. Frank Jackson is simply a young piece with potential moving forward. 2 1st's always helps.

- Why for New Orleans: First off, they don't throw that many picks unless Jimmy commits long term or AT LEAST picks up his option for next season as well. A lineup of Payton-Jrue-Jimmy-Mirotic-Davis is absolutely deadly and INSTANTLY a true contender. Still have Randle coming off the bench. That top 6 could compete with anyone night in and night out. It's a huge gamble, but potentially a gamble that could net a title if they can maneuver a few other trades to add some depth.

Boy i would love to see that trade happen. Would def make the West even more of a bloodbath.

The two have already talked about it, per Lowe. Problem was Minny is demanding Jrue along with a bunch of other shit (unprotected firsts and two expiring as well as Minny taking on Dieng).

Minny's asking price has been hilarious all along. They're gonna screw around and end up losing him in the offseason for nothing and set themselves back a good bit.

Man, I would love it if Butler went to NO and then they knocked off the Warriors. Really a deserving, hungry young team that has been through a lot. But asking them to give up Jrue Holiday is fucking ridiculous, he's a core player on that team and would be extremely difficult to replace. But if I were NO I would for sure give up an unprotected first to get Butler. The future is now, baby!

No way NO trades Jrue for an expiring Butler but man that team would be stacked if they got him even for just a year.

One of hell of a defensive backcourt tagged onto that massive frontline of theirs

The narrative is stale. I am much more interested in what comes out of the east than what GS are doing.
Exactly. We all know nobody in the West is beating GS, but the East is a different story. Looks like you might be right about Toronto.

Also, the Bucks look better than people thought and Philly is maybe worse than people thought. I think Indiana might be better than Philly. We will see. I do think Giannis is enough of a game changing talent that he could upset a team in the playoffs similar to Lebron in 2007. Could be a really fun playoffs this year in the east.

LIke a lot of us thought losing Ariza and another year of age for Paul and the Rockets may have only had a 1 year window. I guess GS vs LA will be ok, but I have no reason to believe that will even happen unless it is 1 vs 8.

I was thinking the same thing about Philly. Outside of Embiid, Simmons and Redick, im not a huge fan of their roster. Giannis is an absolute monster. They better hope his jumper doesnt start falling.

Who does everyone have as early season MVP? Giannis, Davis, or Jokic?
