2018-2019 Tank Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What we should do is have Sexton or Harrison run a play and if it doesn't develop in the first 14-16 seconds, kick it out to Clarkson and let him do his thing.
They get the ball over HC at 18 second mark of the shot clock, 2-4 seconds of one on one offense is somewhat defensible.

I think they just need to keep a tighter wrap on Clarkson, don't let him freewheel too much, but let him do it from time to time.

Minny kind of showed how to handle him, just blitz the screen and roll and make him a passer further from the hoop. If he was a willing enough as a passer, Clarkson could simply pass out of it, cut hard and find himself in favorable positions for the feed from time to time. Jordan doesn't seem to like passing it unless he thinks it's an assist.

Is this the worst Cavs team of all time? I cant think of one worse. Were the 2010 Cavs this bad? Im a diehard but this is brutal stuff to watch.

2010 was harder to watch because there weren't players on the team with a future with us.

Like Sessions was easier to watch than Clarkson is but it was easy to tell he didn't have a future with the team either. Also no one was really tradable.

Sexton makes this season watchable.

Nah this is harder, because we actually have some decent players with a future who are being suffocated by the second worst coaching staff of all time (worst was when Lue was here) and by some of the lowest IQ players in the league. The 2010 team was looking ok until Andy got hurt and Mo went into his mini post LBJ depression and then we surrendered and brought in guys like Eyenga, Harris Samuels who became part of the super tank.

I'm pretty sure tanking was the plan all along, Love obviously doesn't do well under pressure as we all saw the last few years, so wouldn't surprise me if he was happy to play for a rebuilding team especially with his mental health issues. So Dan and Altman give him an offer 30 mil per year to fool the fans into thinking we want to be competitive. Suddenly Love has a "toe injury" and is out half the year and Lue is fired for not playing the young players (not that the old players would help us win). Hill starts playing well... oh and he's injured. Nwaba starts helping us get wins... oh and he's injured, Korver has a breakout game.. oh and he's traded.

Pretty sure this pattern will continue and for the second half of the season once a bottom 4 pick is confirmed suddenly Love is back all our vets are balling and we finish strong to get the fans enthusiastic again. I don't think Altman has any intention of keeping any of these guys like Hood, Clarkson, etc and so he doesnt really give a shit if they hurt us every night and make us lose games it's what he wants.

This is just my conspiracy mind working but then again I find it funny that these rebuilding teams always seems to have mystery injuries to their best players it's always so convenient.

:chuckle: :cha (40):

This isn’t even close to 2010. There was no lottery pick, no young talent, nothing. Now you can think of Sexton and Zion and cap space; then it was nothing until they took on Baron Davis for the unprotected first...
Much better now if you draw a timeline. Of course Kyrie was a great pick (looking ahead) but then at 4 they took TT...

I've done the "rank the best all-time", and it's here if you want to reminisce on both recent and some less recent halcyon days, but just the same as the GOAT rankings we could do the other goat rankings...

They may or may not make it to that season's 19 wins, but despite the many blowout losses, unlike 2010-11 they don't have close to the worse average "The Diff" in the league, which is really as instructive as any more advanced stat.

We've had two 15-67 seasons, and when we were tanking for you-know-who we were 17-65.

Can we fast forward through this season already? Nobody is improving, we hardly have any young prospects. It's just really boring.
I don't want to watch players like Clarkson jack up shots and listen to the announcers act like they are the future of this team.

Are you actually entertained? Do you actually think Clarkson has a future on this team? Do you actually like our offensive system?

Not replacing the coaching staff is going to continue to look like a terrible move

We've basically punted the season away by not committing to rebuilding at the start of the season and getting a coach who might have an actual future with this team. We just have to hope our young players aren't damaged too much by this type of season.

Could we have traded up a few spots this past draft? Was there any report? Because Jaren Jackson is looking like he can change the game.

If there was a report, it wouldn't be worth shit. And, who cares?!

Do you have a time machine?
