2018-2019 Tank Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Best description of the Delly-effect so far

There's a ceiling to the team's talent and coaching atm. Delly's energy will only help so much, but I'm not sure it will translate into wins like it did back in the Mike Brown days

we dont only have what he did in cleveland in his rookie year but st marys making the sweet 16 and like i said delly sliced open team usa and australia would have won except for dellys rest periods being too costly

so i think he can carry heavy things and i also think winning games against low quality nba teams is not that heavy, so i warn you about possible winning

im just glad im with a fanbase where i dont have to explain the delly effect anymore so sorry if i seem like im preaching to the choir, for 2 years i was like a jehovah's witness trying to go around telling everyone what i witnessed but nobody believed me

Hell the way people in here think we could make the playoffs with this all star lineup: Sexton/Delly/Cedi/Nance/Zizic

Might not make the playoffs but they would play hard and be entertaining to watch...at this point in the rebuild what more could you ask for?

exactly, so far the re-build is going well. Sexton looks to be a major piece. Improvement is some aspects could make him an all-star 2-3 years

Team plays hard and will some games hopefully but no way we don't get the atlanta pick back

Picked up 3 second round picks and one first(protected) so the assets are building back

Have a decent player in Burks who as much as I am warming to him, he would probably bring a good haul to a contender that needs his production and expiring contract.

Still got JR contract to move for more assets.

Would try to get Nwaba a 2-3 year deal

Not stuck with Hood after this year. Actually if I was the cavs I would ask him who he would ok a trade with and just get rid of him for a happy meal

I could see a contender wanting clarkson and would deal him as well

Cedi, Nwaba, Nance are good rotational players.
Still have the neglected zizic

Delly will be a help to sexton

And we still have Love and TT who have value. With his play and leadership I am ok with TT until next years trade deadline

The tank is in serious trouble...we are improving and once Love gets back forget bottom 3...there are some really really bad teams out there

The losses will add up. As good as the Wizards game was, the Kings was just as bad. Don't let one game change that view.

That being said, when you subtract some negative IQs like JR and Hood(last night) you start to see a better brand of basketball.

Delly will only enhance that.

Don't you think adding Delly and Love Will Make this team considerably better? I mean even if they keep shooting this many 3s they will win more.

I just think Love is going to lock this team up a notch because they have gotten considerably better since he was out

The hardest thing is Koby will have to hold guys out extra long for injuries and figure out ways to handcuff Drew. Drew doesn't seem completely on board with the tank.

We do have something's working in our favor. Delly coming into the team should create an adjustment period for the second unit. I think Love coming back will be an adjustment period for the starting unit. If Koby can make some trades to distrupt the rhythm even more it should help the tank. The deadline should see another major roster change.

I wish Drew was more on board with the tank, we could play guys out of position or develop them in more long term positions after the deadline. Playing Sexton at SG would help him develop off the ball more and help the tank. Giving Nance exclusively minutes at PF and giving him the green light from 3 would help his development and help the tank. I would also like seeing Cedi play some backup PG so he has to work on his handles and playmaking for others.

Than we need to play JR and Hood lmao, I’m starting to worry about the Tank :chuckle:

I'm not worried about the tank. We can manipulate the last dozen or so games to get into the bottom three if not already there. Love will get back and get hurt and be out again within a month. Who knows who else will get hurt and be out for extended periods.
I need some wins just to keep my interest. Who'd be here on this forum if we were losing everything, not me anyhow.

You'll be grabbing your battle helmets and jumping right back in the tank after you see the enemy tonight.

I’m seriously worried about the tank....team can’t fk up the bottom 3 finish this year.

Just hold Love out....

Figure we add love. Delly is a better fit than hill. Sexton continues to improve. Nwaba comes back. Look out. Lol

Drew doesn't seem completely on board with the tank.
From what I can tell, no one in the whole Cavs organization is "on board with the tank." Because outright tanking is dumb. So, I'm glad Drew isn't doing anything besides trying to win and develop players. Anything else from a head coach would be bad for our players and bad for this organization.

When you lose someone like LeBron, you don't have to outright tank. Simply developing lots of young players, letting injured players like Love sit out for as long as possible, and trading off vets for assets will basically lead to lots of losses.

That is all that we are doing as an organization, I think. The league has taken away the "outright tanking" advantage, and I'm glad they have done so.

If there is any type of "tanking" that we'll do, it will be this:
If at the end of the season, we are on the bubble of whether or not we keep our pick, I could see us shutting down Love, Delly, and TT (if he's not traded) for "injuries" or other excuses during the last 10-20 games.

It bothers me that Ante Zizic plays so little considering he was supposed to be a piece of the rebuild. He suffering from the snowball effect of Nance getting little to no minutes at the PF position and this won't change until Nance becomes a serviceable shooter because TT will get whatever minutes he can handle as our best and most consistent player this season. TT having actual value with that contract is something I never imagined so I'm hoping they preserve his health with a few DNP-CD's in order to at least see what they have with Zizic before they move on.
