2018-2019 Tank Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
From what I can tell, no one in the whole Cavs organization is "on board with the tank." Because outright tanking is dumb. So, I'm glad Drew isn't doing anything besides trying to win and develop players. Anything else from a head coach would be bad for our players and bad for this organization.

When you lose someone like LeBron, you don't have to outright tank. Simply developing lots of young players, letting injured players like Love sit out for as long as possible, and trading off vets for assets will basically lead to lots of losses.

That is all that we are doing as an organization, I think. The league has taken away the "outright tanking" advantage, and I'm glad they have done so.

If there is any type of "tanking" that we'll do, it will be this:
If at the end of the season, we are on the bubble of whether or not we keep our pick, I could see us shutting down Love, Delly, and TT (if he's not traded) for "injuries" or other excuses during the last 10-20 games.

Maybe saying saying Drew wasn't fully on board with the tank is the wrong phrasing. I don't think he is all in on developing all the young guys, which is a part of tanking to me but I guess it isn't to everyone. I think it was part of the reason Hill was moved so early so he wouldn't get in the way of Sexton's development. Zizic seems like an after thought on this roster.

I agree I think the front office will give alot of the vets time off at the end of the season and will find injuries to justify it.

It bothers me that Ante Zizic plays so little considering he was supposed to be a piece of the rebuild. He suffering from the snowball effect of Nance getting little to no minutes at the PF position and this won't change until Nance becomes a serviceable shooter because TT will get whatever minutes he can handle as our best and most consistent player this season. TT having actual value with that contract is something I never imagined so I'm hoping they preserve his health with a few DNP-CD's in order to at least see what they have with Zizic before they move on.
That is a good idea. Sit tt a couple times a month. See what zizic can do. Especially with delly and help the legit tank

Or, maybe they figure that half a season is enough, and they're saving Zizic for after the deadline. Considering the whole "rookie wall" thing, it might make sense.

You think they are that smart

Yes, I think our front office is smart. Look at how well our rebuild is going. Really fucking well.

Get out of here with that dumb shit.

Well we don't have to worry about winning too much imo, this team can't score or defend consistently enough to win at even a halfway decent pace.

Liking asset collection phase so far. Done good by the vets too

Hey, not the lottery's fault that Denver passed over Wade and the dinosaur, just as it's not the lottery's fault we passed over Dipo, Giannis or even one-year-wonder-Hyphen or the New Zealander. :)
Sure, you make the right pick, but you don't even get to fuck up on LeBron if you didn't have the choice for him in the first place.

Larry Drew is such a try hard. We won even with the point shaving and the rigging.

TT is an empty stat guy.

Sound the alarm bells!

Protect Zion at all costs. Fuck, they are playing way too hard. Seriously, Why did we fire Lue? Drew is not the man for the job.
