2018-2019 Tank Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Knicks are closing in. They've lost like five straight.

Team is in such a bad state if it wasn't for 2 games against the bulls at the end of the month could be looking at 0 for January.
Depressing to watch the team now. I'm all for a good tank but this is taking it to ridiculous levels. We have so many tank drivers I can't tell
who is the tank commander.

I'm over teams using zone defense on this team. It makes games real boring. Can Drew come up with something to break the zone?

With this teams shooting I don’t think Jesus could even figure this one out

Three years down the road when we’ve had a chance to acquire players with our cap space or via trade and also through the draft and are trying to get back into the playoffs, what players on this current roster would you like to still see on the team at that point in time? I was thinking about this the other day and I honestly couldn’t care less if any of them were here but that would be one hell of a rebuild.

Edit: Hopefully Sexton proves me wrong but at this point I’m not expecting him to.

Zion here we come!
For the sake of entertainment, we need him. I'd actually watch an entire Cavs game.

I know we are hard on Sexton but an eighth overall pick isn't going to jumpstart a rebuild. Not like a top 3 pick would. The real losers of the draft are anybody that passed on Luka.

The Cavs rebuild starts in June of 2019 thanks to the 2017-18 Brooklyn Nets. That team shit on all of our hopes and dreams.

I'd love Zion, but I'd also love any of the 3 from Duke.

I'm counting the days until this Cavs group is wiped clean. All except Cedi, Delly, Nance and Sexton. Those can be contributors on a good team. I'd like to see them in year 3 of the rebuild. Blend them in with two top 3 picks and let's enjoy some hoops again.

I remember a comment here during the depths of 2011 to the effect that it seemed like we would have to essentially turn the roster over 2-3+ times to contend.

Sure enough, we did manage to turn the roster over 2-3 times, and contend and then some...

We were supposed to right now be "ahead" of that point in 2011, already having one of our top-10-pick rookie cornerstones playing nightly as well as Zizic/Osman...

In addition, technically we have as well as the 3rd-5th best players from our championship roster albeit not playing much this year at all, as well as arguably the 2nd best performer from the 2015 LeDelly finals roster...

Just goes to show how much #23 means, how raw our rookies are, and how much absence/injury/age/Delly ultimately being JAG/Cap'n Hennessey being all of the above and a headcase means.

In terms of asset building, we are ahead a year. That is all. Team needs a new coach and frontman.

I believe Osman can be a solid three and D wing off the bench. The type that fits in an offensive system that involves a ton of movement off the ball and getting in transition. (He should also free up his summers for the sake of resting his body) Will they hire a coach who instills an offensive system next year? Who knows, I'm not sure how anyone can be sold on Koby aka Dan, running things.

Sexton just needs so much work. I don't know how much patience this front office will have with him, but I would look for a starting PG somewhere else if he hasn't improved his defense/passing/shooting/finishing by the end of next year. In at least two or more areas of his game. (He might end up being better suited as a microwave scorer off the bench anyway)

Outside of them, Nance and Delly probably have the best shot of being here in the next three years. The rest of this roster is garbage.

A really bad year for the NBA to have changed the way the lottery works. Could have the worst record and easily end up with 5th pick now and only 14% chance for the #1 pick. Zion would be a huge get.

Hard game to watch today. Drew seems lost to find a solution. I'm not even sure who Drew wanted to be backup PG tonight. He seem to let Clarkson do whatever he wanted and didn't seem to want to go to the duo of Clarkson and Burks.

Even though Jones ended up with a decent stat line, I'm question if he is even NBA material. I would have liked Mccaw to get some of the garbage minutes in the 4th, just to see if he could play well with Sexton and Cedi.
