2018 Browns Free Agent Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Keenum is in his perfect system. Still, he is a solid guy to start at QB.

I think Smith is available. Mahommes isnt going to sit on the bench forever and he looked pretty good in his first action this year.

Is keenum even going to be available?

Smith is more likely to care about winning then anything else. My guess is he will roll with Denver.

Sam is injury prone, but the dude is a much better QB when healthy than Cousins.

Jesus Christ, how many seasons has he been healthy? This move would be so Browns.

Cousins could be our qb for the next 10 years. Leading us to the playoffs and beyond.

Sam Bradford has a degrading knee issue. It's a ticking time bomb. Nope.

He's perfect if we're looking for a guy to start two games and then put on season-ending IR.

He played 14 and 15 games in the previous two years.

His most recent knee scope shouldn't worry me too much, plus you would still have Kizer and another potential draft behind him.

23 TD/5 INT and a 101 QB rating over his last 17 starts.

Completed 71 percent of his passes with 7.2 YPA.

That's legitimate.

This is the Cleveland Browns we are talking about. He would be injured week 1. Just say no to Bradford due to durability, not skill set.

We're saying no to potentially elite veteran QBs because of "durability."

No thanks, we're good.

You have an incredibly high opinion of Cousins. I dont believe he is a QB who takes you to the Super Bowl. He is Andy Dalton.

As for Smith, dude doesnt have a choice. He is under contract until 2019. It will take a trade and the Browns have the ammo and motivation.

What do you guys think of potentially going after Carlos Hyde?

He's in an interesting position: He lost fourth quarter touches to Matt Breida by the second half of the season. He didn't top 1,000 yards in a single season, usually because of games missed. Another knock: teams will likely look at the running back depth of this draft class and save their free agent money.

All that said, he would instantly improve the run game. We have also seen Ohio State Alum signings in the past as a way to curry goodwill with the fanbase.

Yay or nay on Carlos joining the Orange and Brown?

Yay. We've been in on Hyde since the rumors of him being delt earlier in the season. Looked like he was falling out of favor there. He's be perfect in the backfield with a mix of Duke and drafting another change of pace back. Hopefully Dorsey can find us a Tarik Cohen type in the draft. Hyde would be a beast behind this O-Line.

Just to confirm, and im sure you already know this. Cousins has significantly better numbers, across the board, than Dalton over the last 3 years.

Cousins Last 3 years. QB rating =102, 97, 94. TDs=29,25,27 Yards=4100, 4900, 4100
Dalton last 3 years QB rating =106, 92, 87. TDs =25,18,25 Yards= 3200, 4200, 3300

On top of that as much as that random twitter guy doesnt like Cousins he is still a top 10 QB in QB rating, TDs, Yards, and Percentage completion. Which means its really easy to make the argument that cousins is in fact a top 10 QB (shocking information). So you bet your god damn ass im offering 30 million a year for him if im the browns. Jesus this isnt fucking rocket science guys. a top 10 QB is on the market and hte browns havent had a top 25 QB in 10 fucking years. Whatever the guy wants give it to him.

It's an intriguing situation. Throwing second contract money at a running back has burned the Browns before. Ben Tate was supposed to be a bell cow back in 2014, finally out of Arian Foster's shadow... then seemed ready for retirement as soon as he got paid. A running back's first free agency is the least "Moneyball" contract I can imagine... but this offense is awful and they have money.

Not to mention Dalton has AJ Green. Think about cousins and Josh Gordon.

How many seasons has the guy completed out of the time he's been in the league?

My god Ben Tate had this board in a frenzy back then. God we were so pathetic lol I don't think we had a safari but there was like a Ben Tate crusade lolololol

Why do I care about an injury he suffered in 2010 or 2014?

He’s a bridge QB and a stud. Win win.
