2018 Browns Free Agent Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Teddy is a free agent..provided he checks out medically I throw a big front loaded deal at him for a year..: perfect bridge QB

I asked this before and didn't get an answer. Is it legal to give Cousins like $50mil this year when he have the space, then pay him a more reasonable salary the rest of the contract. Like still 130mil over 5 years, but 50 mil first year and 20mil every other year?

Someone with better knowledge than me on contracts can answer this better, but you for sure can front-load the shit out of contracts.

Look at Josh Norman. He's one with a huge front-loaded contract. Basically we could go in with a MASSIVE signing bonus, first couple years with FULLY guaranteed $ and then go from there.

John Dorsey and Ivory live together in perfect harmony

Side by side in Barea, playa, why don't we?

Ivory would add nice depth taking carries as an RB2 behind a potential draftee or higher profile signing (considering Duke as the receiving threat out of the backfield).

Ivory is a solid RB, but he has never been a true every down back, but when you mix him in properly he can be effective. We do need to bring in a guy like Ivory, so I wouldn’t mind him in Cleveland.

I know this is ironic coming from me, but this post should be a bannable offense.

Pretty sure you can pay him the money up front. Most teams spread that signing bonus over the length of the contract and when those players are cut, that money paid in signing bonus is considered "Dead Money"

I'm not sure if you can front load it so you pay him the money AND take the full cap hit in the same season.

Anyone have a list of exclusively Browns that will be hitting the market in March?

Trying to see where we will be losing players.
