2018 Cleveland Browns Off Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Indy pick is worth 2200.

6th pick 1600
37th pick 530
49th pick 490
f 2nd rou 400

Total 3020
Total premium Indy got was 37%

The 4th pick is worth 1,800. If I'm the Browns I say you can thank your buddy the Jets, but they set the market price and that's what we're expecting to move that 4th pick.

1800(1.37)=2,466

That's the equivalent draft value premium the Jets just gave up.

So if we are looking at, for example, holding Denver over the barrel. 5th pick is worth 1700. 40th pick is worth 500. I'm willing to stop there at a 22% premium because, hey, I'm a nice guy. But their first and second this year should be a minimum the horsies have to give up if the Donkey wants his new QB

who's sold on any of these QB's?...I wish there was a clear cut guy...I'm scared of Darnold...something about him says bust to me...

It’s going to be real hard to not rape the shit out of the Bills with #4.
It’s also hard to pass on Nelson/Chubb, but we could kill buffalo if they want(need) the QB
Keep the pick...so tired of passing on top talent to get more picks....

I think it’s pretty clear that swapping #4 with Denver (at threat of a Buffalo deal) and still getting our player at #5 + a 2019 2nd rounder—OR maybe a 2018 2nd rounder if we are lucky—is a smart way to have our cake and eat it, too.

He even looks little like Aaron Rodgers here.

This deal all but assures the Browns take QB at 1. QB SHOULD go at 2 and WILL go at 3. If we skip QB at 1 we will get the 3rd best QB in the draft having the #1 and #4 picks. That would be insane.

It was already assumed we’d take a QB at 1 but now it’s a foregone conclusion

I think if the right QB falls to #4. Denver,Buffalo, AZ, or even Miami will get bent over a barrel or we take the best player in the draft....win-win.

What would the Bills have to give up to give us that point value that the Colts got?

The Colts bent the Jets over a freaking log....

Can people stop referencing the draft value chart like it’s complete gospel? That shit goes out the window when talking about QBs. It’s the most important position in the sport and, if you get it right, no one will ever care if you sacrificed some arbitrary number of “value” to get him.

Totally agree NC. Best you can use it for QB is as a baseline. I even think you throw it out the window when you break down even further. Last years draft had 4 premium players--Garrett, Adams, Thomas, and Fournette and 3 QBs. I think Lattimore and Hooker could of been premium if it wasn't for the injuries. This years draft has 4 premium players--Chubb, Nelson, Barkley, Fitz and 4 QBs maybe 5. I think Ward, James, and Edmund are close also but all have a different issue that hurts their value a little.

Your not trading QBs or premium players for market value. The value for a QB is much higher then a premium player. You are gonna pay for what you want. In this draft I think there is a big difference between Chicago's value at 8 and SF value at 9. Draft chart says 50 points but I would put it closer to a mid 2nd. Last draft Cleveland got premium for Watson even though he fell.

I think Indy didn't get enough for the 3rd pick but staying in the top 8 gives them a chance at a premium player so that increases the value they got. If the Browns have to drop out the top 8 in a trade with 4th I expect the value to be close to Indy's even though it will be the 4th QB taken. Most trades available will take us out of the premium players and maybe even the next level.

Pick at 1 better be Rosen. Trade out of 4 to the highest bidder but stay in the top 8-9 and draft Ward. Then you have tons of ammo to move back up in the draft.

#12 and #22 would be the start. I’d also try to get a future second or get back the pick we traded for Taylor. Then you stay at 12 or have the ability get back to 8-10 while keeping all 1st & 2nd picks.

That's why i tried to look at it in relative terms. Very rarely do the values equal, but I do believe that teams will turn around and point to a "market value" of the pick based on similar trades. So if I'm the Browns I'm pointing to that Jets trade and saying, this is the premium I expect.

Be prepared to be disappointed. Good chance Darnold is the 1st pick. With 4, take a player. We need high end talent.
