2018 College Football Season/Playoff Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Dexter Lawrence hasn’t lived up to his potential the last couple seasons. He’s okay, but he’s not a player that’s going to shift the outcome of a game in any meaningful way.

yes, they claim they have no idea how they tested positive.

"This particular substance can come from anything," Swinney said when explaining the players were surprised by the news, via Murphy. "And these three players have no clue—in fact, they thought it was a joke when I called them. They have no clue how this has gotten in their system. It could come from hair products. It could come from a cream. It could come from protein. It could come from a product that you order or buy online that you think there's nothing wrong with it. It could be anything. Literally, it could be a drink—something in a drink."

They conveniently gloss over the fact that Ostarine is banned for human consumption in the US. So no, it's not "something in a drink". At least, not unless they are drinking an illegal performance enhancing drink.

Of course, now this is going to help make Notre Dame look like a legitimate pick fo the playoffs instead of the overrate team that the computer ranking show that they are. I was really rooting for them to get destroyed.
Multiple players testing positive for it at the same time is a sign of a systematic problem.

I'm SURE espin will flood the streets of Clemson and spark the launch of an investigation.

Perhaps they'd call it PEDgate.

breaking news:

In an unusual turn of events, the First Responder Bowl has been ruled a no contest after lightning forced the game between Boston College and Boise State to be canceled.

How are we supposed to survive without knowing the outcome of the First Responders Bowl. No wonder the NCAA has such a small playoff field, can't detract from important bowl games like this just to include major conference champions in the playoffs..

Wisconsin just ruined Miami (FL) 35-3 in the battle of underachievers.

B1G is now 2-0 in bowl games, since Minnesota beat Georgia Tech the other day.

Clemson should absolutely be investigated. 3 players testing positive for the same illegal steroid at the same time is not a coincidence. Where the fuck is ESPN? Where the fuck is McMuffin and these others blowhards crying about Dabo & his players lying to the media? And most importantly, where is the NCAA? As if there was any doubt about certain programs getting special treatment...

B1G only lost 1 game last year, and the committee still screwed us.

Big 10 is 11-1 in last 12 bowl games.

Can you imagine if the SEC or ACC was in the midst of this type of bowl dominance? Hardly anybody is even mentioning it....

Hopefully Purdon't go to a bowl game next year.

Harbaugh is now:

0-4 vs. Ohio State
2-2 vs. Michigan State
0-1 vs. Notre Dame

Arguably their three biggest rivals, and he's 2-7 against them. 1-9 against top-10 teams now.

This asskicking from Florida is going to drop him to 1-3 in bowl games. How long for the national media to start actually criticizing this dude?

This game is a good representation of where each of these programs are going.

Michigan has peaked and Florida is just getting started.

If he doesn't beat OSU and win a Big10 title next year I think he's gone. They'd probably consider getting rid of him this year but his buyout is something like $17 million. I'm not sure how that changes next year.

They've had highly ranked recruiting classes every year he's been there, he's just not getting the results to justify his salary.

I think next year is his last year regardless.

The NFL won't keep calling forever, particularly as he continues to disappoint year in and year out. That program is going nowhere.

Notre Dame still has no business being here. Don't care about their undefeated record. I watched them play multiple times this year, and they honestly are probably one of the worst teams to make the playoff in the five years of its existence.

If they lose by less than three scores, I'll be relatively surprised.
