OSU doesn’t get blown out by sub par teams we don’t need to worry about it.
I guess I take issue with this.
LSU got beat pretty soundly by a really average/bad UF team with the worst starting QB in the SEC. But the narrative isn't that LSU lost to abad UF team....its that they lost on the road to a good SEC opponent.
If Purdue plays UF 10 times, I trust Jeff Brohm to win at least 6 or 7 out of 10 against Dan Mullen.
UF's ranking is a travesty to the entire system.
So while OSU should not get their shit kicked in once a year by a mid-level Bog 10 team, the ramifications for Ohio State laying an egg once a year are at twice as damaging as a team like LSU getting beat by a bad UF team, and then rebounding against UGA and getting right back into the top 4.
The rankings of these teams are an absolute joke and completely unreliable. I still need someone to explain to me how in the initial polls both 5-3 Miss State and 5-3 Texas A&M were in the top 25?
And like my buddies who always comment "just let the season play out out...it'll sort itself by the end of the year"........they miss the bigger picture. Any SEC team who then beats that ranked 5-3 team, gets another notch on their belt come resume time. Miss St was ranked #22 when we beat them!!11!!!, etc.
That shit is playing with an uneven deck of cards. The Big 10 is getting pissed on. I'm not sure if Jim Delaney still carries the big swinging dick, but we are getting shit on as a conference right now. We damn near went undefeated in bowl season last year, and are still being treated like we're the trash of the P5 leagues.
