2018 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Derwin James is a bad fit for the roster. Not a ball hawk. I suppose that if you could move Peppers, then I would jump at the chance. Otherwise, huge pass on Derwin.

If the pick ends up top 5, I am taking Fitzpatrick. I would consider the best skill talent too *whether that is Guice, Barkely, or Ridley*.

If the Broncos slip out of the top 5 who is the Browns' main competition for Fitzpatrick?

1. Browns QB
2. Giants QB
3. Colts OL? (They have Hooker)
4. 49ers WR or Barkley or trade down?
5. Texans pick

The only other possibility is a team trading up for him.

How good is Fitzpatrick?

At the current moment he is considered one of the best prospects in this draft overall. I am not sure who on the board is experienced with evaluating safeties and most people have spent their time figuring out QBs and other offensive guys. Aka Fitzpatrick and James are this year’s Adams and Hooker. So they will be the first two Safeties off the board and id be very surprised if they make it out of the top 10. This is a Strong SS class while FS seems to be very weak overall. We have SS (aka Peppers, Kindred all seem to be better at that position)

49ers will go BPA and Colts have to get a better OLine. So my guess is the 49ers are the wild card with drafting Minkah since Hooker is a FS. To me unless we sign Cousins, our QB, FS and WR all need to be taken in round one while we use Round two for RB and BPAs. If we have to trade up to get Minkah then we have to trade up, we gotta make sure we don’t skip on the best FS in this class.

The costs of moving up to #3-4 are so prohibitive that I don't think any team has the balls to move up to draft a FS.

A QB? Sure. Barkely? Maybe. But any team that traded up that far, giving up a fortune, would be roasted by their fan base for anything less than a skill position.

I feel like the Colts could absolutely be in the mix for a quarterback given the uncertainty of Luck.

Ehh, I don't know about trading back into round 1 unless it's a Njoku like situation. Lets pretend Gordon isn't here next year.

WR depth chart:
1. Coleman
2. Round 2 receiver
3. FA receiver (maybe Pryor too?)
4. Louis and Higgins fight to the death for a spot.
5. Dorsey's day 3 picks, undrafted FAs, or waiver wire pick ups from here on out.

That's a pretty respectable group. Njoku and Duke can be threats in the passing game too. Gordon obviously puts them over the top if he stays clean and on the team. More than anything else decent QB play will make this group look better.

Doubtful, but doesn’t matter. When you have a great young player like Ogbah and a huge need somewhere else, I suggest we take the one left of Minkah or James in the top 5.

Both change our defense entirely.

If both are gone, that means Barkley is there. In which case, I think you take him.

That part’s simple.

The hard part is which quarterback we want.

My heart tells me Mayfield, but my brain tells me... that Rosen is a dickhead, but the NFL prototype.

I hope we get Cousins in free agency so we don’t have to worry about that and can take Minkah and Barkley.

Any other FA QB, and I’m still taking a QB in the top five.

I think if we get cousins in fa, we might be trading down.

I think the Browns could offer Cousins 30M a year and he would say no, frankly.

DeMarcus and Kirk. Bout to be a Cousins reunion in CLE.

So cousins hasnt actually been that impressive lately. Ill pay him whatever he wants and still think he is top 10, but hasnt been top 5 like he is getting paid

Awesome. Maybe it will keep the Redskins from franchising him again and keep teams from offering as much as Cleveland will.

Because let’s be clear, I don’t care that he’s somewhere between the 6th and 12th best QB in the NFL.

That’s as good as we can hope for, and he’s only 29.

Offer him a motherfucking record. I’m talking his agent says an amount and you Peter Griffin-negotiate your way by countering with an even higher amount.

You’re looking for an “Excuse me, there’s a decimal point in here somewhere, right?” amount. So much so that he can sell it to his wife like “Listen, honey, they’re paying for our lifetime of shame and ridicule of our children in school. They are paying for our tears and future divorce due to stress, honey.”

Can’t take that money to your grave, Jimmy. For you’re growing old in Cleveland, and Winter is coming.
