Combine numbers will change so much of this. If we end up with two Top 5 picks, you address QB #1 and if Minkah is there, you grab him. If he is gone, things become difficult.
B/R:
1. Cleveland Browns:Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA
6. Cleveland Browns (from HOU): Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State
SB Nation:
1. Cleveland Browns: Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA
New general manager John Dorsey said in his introductory press conference that his job was to find a quarterback for the Browns. That should tell you what he thinks about
DeShone Kizer, who has had a maddening rookie season. He could like Rosen, a traditional pocket passer with a good arm and a quick release.
6. Cleveland Browns (via Houston Texans): Minkah Fitzpatrick, DB, Alabama
Whether you slot him into safety or cornerback, there’s a starting spot for Fitzpatrick on Cleveland’s defense right now. That says as much about Cleveland’s defensive backs as it does Fitzpatrick’s talent.
An interesting thing about the SB Nation mock, they did their first "Blockbuster" trading of picks. They referenced the Buffalo Bills. With them needing a QB still, and they have two 1st round picks, they have them trading up (currently with the 49ers). Now, if HOU goes on a free fall and all the dominoes falls perfectly and we somehow end up with two Top-3 picks, that would be intriguing.
In this mock, they have Buffalo giving up their two 1st rounders and either a 2nd this year or 1st in 2019 to SF. Out of that, SF drafts:
Guice & Ridley.
If this could somehow happen, albeit unlikely, coming out of the 1st with Rosen, Guice, Ridley would be pretty nice. Address secondary in 2nd round + FA.
