2018 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Do we want a guy with no mobility at all?

Yeah but Rosen is not a runner, at all. Watson runs all the time. Wentz also runs a bit, hence his injury. UCLA had no line to block for Rosen, hence he got hit all the damn time. Our line has done well in pass protection this year. I don't see the injury concerns comparable given all that.
Mayfield can move. He hasn't had an injury problem. The hell with Rosen, let's go for Baker.

Lamar Jackson doesn't have any injury concerns and he runs and gets hit way more. QB1. We never left the train baby!!!!!!!

But seriously I think the Rosen injuries are a concern even if he's not a runner because he's not a guy who's going to exactly be that mobile to escape pressure. He moves like a Phillip Rivers or Eli Manning.

I don't. Especially if that guy isn't mobile and has injury, leadership and character concerns. I mean how many red flags are we willing to let slide before we start considering other prospects?

Haha. I still like Lamar. But...not over Rosen. That's too risky IMO.

Rivers & Eli haven't had injury issues though. As long as we continue to invest in a line to protect the QB, I think it'd be fine.

It's silly season now. It's tough to know what is true and what is false. There are some things we know for certain and yes he, along with other QB prospects, have some of these concerns. As for the speculation stories...I'll pass on those and go by what I know and what I see on the field. I'm sure interviews will play a big part here.

Whats the timetable for an ACL injury this late in the season?

Should be ready for Game 1.

Carson Palmer and Robert Griffin III both tore up their knees in the playoffs and were back for the season opener the following year.

I'd like to know what exactly the risk is taking Lamar Jackson over Josh Rosen?

But Rosen does and he's not mobile. Those two things can't be disputed.

Okay. Even if you want to chalk this up to being silly season. When all laid out it still checks boxes. Some of which are negative. What are we gonna do the next time another concerning story comes out about Rosen? Chalk it up to silly season?

It's like with Mayfield. He went from being a good kid, to being just a college kid with a DUI, and now he's being labeled a fierce competitor after his latest on field antics. You see how after every incident there's a damage control being done to preserve him? My question is when is enough enough. I don't think it's ever too early to consider all the information that's out there with these guys if we are looking at on of them to be our FQB.

Remember those character and leadership concerns with Kizer coming out? If you look at his season in totality and then go back and look at all the pre draft stuff with Brian Kelly and about Kizer's arrogance doesn't that put everything we've seen this season in perspective? I think it does.

Pocket passing & going through progressions. Accuracy & consistency. And yes I know Lamar made improvements in all these areas this season. But he's still behind Rosen in all of them and those are pretty essential QB traits.

But Rosen does and he's not mobile. Those two things can't be disputed.
Correct. Rosen has had injury issues. He's not mobile, but neither were any of the Super Bowl Champion QBs of the last 20+ years sans Wilson.

I suppose that would depend on the story.

Mayfield's concerns are different though. They have all been public. We've all witnessed them. It's facts.

It's too tough to gauge right now when enough is enough. That's why I said the interviews are going to play a big part here. But I agree, all the valid information out there needs to be considered.

I'm not sure arrogance has been the problem with Kizer. It's just that he's not very good. Brian Kelly is a flaming douche but everyone knew he was right that Kizer wasn't ready. Everyone but the Browns, it seems.

I think this team is going to look scary next year. Add Rosen and Fitzpatrick to Myles, Ogbah, Coleman, Gordon, and Njoku. There's a great foundation here.

You know who's ahead of Rosen in all of those traits listed?? :chuckle:

I really don't care for a mobile QB, we had our share and they just don't get the job done, if you ask a group of offensive lineman who'd they rather protect for, it'll be a non mobile QB because they know where he's going to be at all times.
