2018 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm not sure when everyone here became such better talent evaluators than the so called "experts" but they still peg Barkley as the best RB prospect since AP so we ride.

I'm done passing on elite offensive playmakers. Julio/Watkins/The list goes on.

WE RIDE.

What current RB in the NFL is a difference maker for his team?

Closest to me is Bell in Pittsburg and NO duo, but they have first ballot hof qb's in Rothisberger and Bree's.

Sure he is an elite talent, but rb does not lead to W's like it used to in the modern NFL.

Pittsburg and NO more important playmakers are Antonio and Thomas.

Just a different game, RB is not worth 4th overall, I think Minkah makes a ton more sense.

Barkley occasionally dances trying to hit a home run instead of taking a short gain. This season, he's been running out of bounds a lot and not running through as many tackles. I would bet he was trying to protect his draft status, because if you watch him as a freshman against Ohio State and Michigan State, he ran harder and broke more tackles than he has this season. He knows how to do it. I would guess that playing football for a living, some coach will get through to him. Those are his flaws. He is elite at everything else. He's 230 lbs. He's so damn tempting because if these flaws are just temporary mental blocks by a 20 year old kid, he's got the talent to be the best back in the league for years.

If MF is a talent that can come in and instantly transform this secondary to a level of respectability (I think we need more than one player in the secondary, though) then he has to be the pick at 4. And I'd be shocked if he wasn't available at 4 at this point.

My biggest knock on Barkley at #4 is every other RB, except maybe Michel after his Playoff, in a very RB strong draft will probably be available at 33 or 35.

I think Rudolph is being criminally under-rated across the board. Ive said it several times but before the monster year mayfield put up this year, i figured Rudolph was goign to be the first QB drafted from the state of oklahoma.

As much as people talk about QBs "lookign the part" Rudolph certainly does that.

He's a good guy and someone I'd consider later on in the draft.

but man, his team itself was beastly. The guys we really need to be taking a look at would be ateman and washington. those guys are awesome.

Well Barkley might not even be there at 4, so we might not have to worry about it anyway.

Question. If you take the same exact Browns team we had this year and you add Zeke how many games do we win? Now how many games would we win if we added Jordan Howard instead of Zeke?

Oh I don't know, Zeke?

Cowboys missed the playoffs without him...

Fournette as well. The Jags made a very significant jump this year, and offensively mostly due to adding a stable and electrifying run game to the arsenal.

There's the fallacy where you assume we find Jordan Howard instead of James Conner, Semaje Perine, Dont'a Foreman or Joe Mixon.......

It's pretty clear cut how much more of a sure fire prospect you're getting at the top of the draft.

Fournette accounted for almost 32% of the Jags' offense this year, which is pretty insane.

I'm pretty sure Todd Gurley and Kareem Hunt are EXTREMELY important to their offense as well.

Also, interesting tidbit...Fournette only had 300 more yards than Duke despite getting 148 more touches this year.

A RB who averages almost 10 yards per reception is pretty valuable, turns out, despite Keys' insistence that he's not a big play threat.

Yeah,

Truly elite RB's matter much more to an offense then they're given credit for. I can almost even make an argument for how much better the Falcons hum when Devonta Freeman is running hard and at his best.

We can go the route where we start comparing RB's at the top of the draft vs RB's taken in the 2nd/3rd/4th round in the past 3 drafts, but it's certainly not a pretty hit rate for anyone who argues we shouldn't touch Barkley at the top of the draft because "this class is too deep." I'll gladly take it there.
