2018 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So we get our pick of the top QB in the draft and the top non-QB in the draft after the first 3 picks are QBs

Nice
I think we have to go QB #1. I want the pick of the litter.

If we go QB at #1 one of three general scenarios occur:
1. 1 other QB is picked at #2 or #3 leaving us Barkley or Chubb guaranteed.
2. Both QBs are taken at #2 and 3. Which means all best non-QB players will be on board and we’d probably have our pick of the best player in the draft.
3. No QBs are taken. #4 becomes crazy fucking valuable to a QB needy team (bidding war).

We are actually set up pretty nicely.
Ok, looks like #2 has taken place and we kind of already know we will have access to the 4th QB who if Buffalo likes we may be able to get a ransom for or we have pick of who we think will be the best player in the draft.

Shit is gonna be funny as hell though when the Jets end up taking Barkley.

I'm honestly not sure who had a better digital operation: Trump's 2016 campaign team or Baker Mayfield's 2018 NFL draft team.

Are you suggesting the Russians care about the NFL draft?

Best QB at 1

Best Player Available at 4

If bpa is Barkley, you take him. I think Barkley will be a monster and I hope they dont pass because they will regret it.

I like how people on here truly believe they can evaluate a qb

The dudes who are picking this have watched more film than u, done countless hours more research, have decades of nfl scouting experience and know exactly what to look for in workouts. This isnt sashi crushing numbers.

I truly belive whoever they pick is the best prospect.

Watching you put people on a pedestal amuses me.

You do realize people that have been doing their jobs a long time could still be very bad at them as well, right?

I mean, most of us on here knew Weeden and Manziel would be awful and the guys who picked them had watched more film than us, etc... as well.

This isn’t 3 decades ago when you couldn’t get your hands on videos and clips of these guys. Anyone with the internet can see 90% of what the professionals can see and form their own opinion.

About a 33% increase above value of 2200

So what could we expect from Miami, Buffalo, or Arizona if they love the 4th QB. So value of pick is 1800 and a 33% increase is 2394.

I've been out driving during the entire day.

I had a feeling this sort of move was going to happen. I never got the vibe from the Indy guys being all that interested in Barkley or even Chubb. It was quite tepid whenever I asked about any sort of vibe from various folks.

This is why I was telling people to take the QB at 1. I'm just glad it happened before draft day.

There is no room to get "tricky" here. Take Darnold or Rosen. Sit pretty at 4, take the guy you like best there (Be it Chubb, Fitzpatrick, Barkley...whatever) and then it call it a round 1.

Get it done. Draft the best QB out there and call it a night.

I agree with the QB at 1.

However, at 4, it depends on the offer. Certainly we’d be pleased at just taking a guy at 4. However, if you get a godfather offer from Buffalo like 12, 22, 53 and a future 2nd, that’s a lot of cheddar.

Likewise, if you can flop Denver on the threat of Buffalo trying to come up and get a 2nd out of them, you should. Get every last grain of value you can get.

It’s stupid to fear a trade down just because past regimes were burned by shitty drafting.

I also think that if you acquired 12, 22, 53, and a future 2nd from Buffalo, it’s very likely that you can package 53 with 12 to get you back as high as you can. Perhaps that 7-9 range to get Denzel Ward.

In said scenario, we end up with the guy we might’ve like best had we stayed at 4 while also adding #22 and a future 2nd.

Browns have the capital to monopolize this bitch. Let’s go out and set our franchise up for the long haul.

Buffalo would definitely be who we trade with in this scenario.

I sincerely don’t mind trading down, which is why if we got Cousins it was trade out of one period, but at the same time I would just go best talent available at 4. We will have the choice of the best player outside of QB at 4 more than likely. Since Thomas has retired, we can get Nelson. We need help with the DBs, Minkah can play FS or CB. Chubb would look amazing with Garrett.

Brown put us in an extremely good position for this season, now can the veteran GM Dorsey put together a draft that can get the Browns over the hump?

Pick 4 is a lot less valuable if the top 3 QBs are gone. The Jets made a very smart move. I don’t think Buffalo is going to sell the farm to come up for Allen or Jackson. If anything they would have to godfather the NYG with a big package like 12, 22, 2nd, 2019 1st, 2020 2nd. That would be my price if on draft day the Browns passed on Rosen. Buffalo really got screwed by the Jets.

I’m only trading down to 12 for an absolute haul.

12, 22, 2019 1st and one additional pick (either a 2018 2nd/3rd or 2019 2nd).

I want Dorsey to have enough ammo to move BACK up to the 6-7 range for less than what he received to move down.

That’s just the cost of doing business and acquiring a franchise QB. Pay a premium or I’m just fine staying at 4 and taking Chubb.
