2018 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We haven't seemed to have much luck with our 1st base prospects lately, but he has been stronger in July than in previous months which is a good sign. He has a lot of work to do, but I don't see him being on the big league club before 2020 anyways since we technically have EE and and Alonso signed until then. Hopefully he can get it together and prove us wrong (I am not overly high on him, at least not top 5 prospect in our farm system.)

The biggest question is if Bradley fails as our future 1st base, who else do you see playing 1st for us long term? I mean we have 28+ mil invested in that position right now. Would be nice if we can find production from somewhere in the farm to be able to resign some current guys we have.

Bradley’s a curious player. You can see he took his fitness seriously this offseason and they did overhaul his swing. He had a horrible start to this year like a lot of guys did.
When you watch him in Akron you can see the size and tools all there. It’s just not necessarily been put together yet. That’s the issue though- will it ever be?
He’s still very young and his play denotes the club should remain patient with him- but he needs to start putting together some good months.
I really like Willie Castro- smooth in the field, making good contact (had a deep HR last night). Don’t know what you do with him with the logjam at SS

What's the plan with Adam Scott? I really like what he's doing in the lower levels, but is he a reliever long-term, or are they stretching him out to start? I see he's gone 3 innings multiple times, and they're giving him 5-6 days rest in between outings.

No he’s definitely a starter until he proves otherwise.

They’ll often limit guys coming off their college season.

Would expect him to debut maybe at Lynchburg next year and skip Lake County all together. He’s a pretty advanced player.

One of those walks was intentional by the way. His lone unintentional walk on the season occurred in his second outing of the year on April 12.

How is Krieger looking defensively in the OF to you guys? His bat is finally coming alive at AA, so he is putting himself back into contention in the future at least for now. His basic numbers say he is better in CF than in the corners, but I don't know his advanced numbers.

Anyone else batting wise that is going under the radar, that could be a factor sooner rather than later?

Anyone know what's going on with Miller's rehab assignments?

A few more before he returns.

Working on his arm slot and shape of his off-speed stuff. Getting him to a place he feels comfortable rejoining the big league club.

I was aware, what about the schedule. I live right by the scrappers field and i thought during yesterday's game they said he may pitch single A on Thursday. I'd love to catch him there. I do appreciate you answering what you thought was my question. Thanks

Doesn't sound like it.

I think he's actually on his way back to Cleveland now per Jordan Bastian's update today. He's eligible to come off the DL tomorrow.

I know it seems like all of you say Marabell isn't a prospect to really look at, but he did just get a promotion to AAA, so he will likely finish the season there.

He was drafted in the 25th round in 15, and he has made it to AAA, so it's quite possible this season has actually put him on the radar for being able to make the 40 man roster somewhere next season (he is rule 5 eligible I believe). Can any of you tell me what he has been doing differently this season compared to his previous seasons? Calica I get is the overall probably better prospect, but Marabell has to be doing something differently this season.

His numbers at AA are, .295/.346/.478 and also I saw an iso of .183 his BABIP is still over .300 so its a bit high, but it's been that way all season and if anything he actually has gotten hot again lately. It may be a fluke, but his numbers actually show he is better at hitter older pitchers as well. Also it shows he uses the whole field, but he is pulling the ball slightly more this season with more line drives. He doesn't walk a ton, but doesn't strike out a ton either.

I saw him play in spring training and he looked like he was a solid OF, and maybe just me, but I think he may up surprising you guys in due time. Aka I am trying to actually get a scouting report of him this season rather than you guys just writing him off completely.
