2018 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
@AZ_ @Derek @BimboColesHair

I know it seems like all of you say Marabell isn't a prospect to really look at, but he did just get a promotion to AAA, so he will likely finish the season there.

He was drafted in the 25th round in 15, and he has made it to AAA, so it's quite possible this season has actually put him on the radar for being able to make the 40 man roster somewhere next season (he is rule 5 eligible I believe). Can any of you tell me what he has been doing differently this season compared to his previous seasons? Calica I get is the overall probably better prospect, but Marabell has to be doing something differently this season.

His numbers at AA are, .295/.346/.478 and also I saw an iso of .183 his BABIP is still over .300 so its a bit high, but it's been that way all season and if anything he actually has gotten hot again lately. It may be a fluke, but his numbers actually show he is better at hitter older pitchers as well. Also it shows he uses the whole field, but he is pulling the ball slightly more this season with more line drives. He doesn't walk a ton, but doesn't strike out a ton either.

I saw him play in spring training and he looked like he was a solid OF, and maybe just me, but I think he may up surprising you guys in due time. Aka I am trying to actually get a scouting report of him this season rather than you guys just writing him off completely.
He’s already played in AAA before. He’s no more of a prospect than Anthony Gallas was. He’s just filling in where needed.

Hell, last year he went from A+ to AAA to A+ to AA and back to A+

Definitely woof, but it really doesn't tell us much of all about how close he is to returning. Guys are rehab assignments are working on a lot of different things.

Velocity was there, movement was there...command, which always suffers when you go lengths between playing, was not.

0 concern. Best his stuff has looked all year, just needs to get right with his mechanics.

2 weak infield singles. No one is worried.
Just get healthy

At the scrappers game today can someone fill me in on freeman? .375 ba, .425 obp

Hell any insight into anyone in the team would be nice

Freeman is a stud.

All Star ceiling, franchise player.

Joe Fermin could be a big leaguer. Hosea Nelson has repeated the level but he’s been very good also.

Oviedo isn’t pitching tonight, but he’s a stud

Rough outing for Andrew Miller tonight in Lake County
0.2 IP
3 H
4 R
2 ER
1 K

Sounds like he was a victim of some bad defense tonight

It's really hard to get info on guys in the AZL, especially pitchers, but it sounds like the Indians have some really really interesting arms in:

Ignacio Feliz
Tahnaj Thomas
Carlos Vargas

Feliz and Thomas went thru the July 2 scouting process in 2016 as a 3B and SS respectively so they're still very new to pitching. Thomas in particular is very intriguing....

@Lee we need you to become our AZL scout since you are there already!

Would be nice if we could get more access to the guys down there since our lower level teams actually seem pretty legit and we have a ton of potential down there, with our drafts and are solid international signings.
