That certainly doesn’t say arm issues. Great news
That certainly doesn’t say arm issues. Great news
He was shutdown due to "general soreness"
Mmhhmm
I mean, I hope he doesn't have an elbow issue but this kinda feels like damage control. A number of people in and around the Akron organization reported he was shutdown due to elbow soreness immediately after it was disclosed he wasn't on the playoff roster.
Guess we'll find out one way or another.....
To be fair, that tweet says fatigue, not soreness.
Yeah, I was referencing Antonetti's interview on The Athletic.... which I thought this tweet was referencing.
He basically said McKenzie has been shut down because he's not 100% healthy and they think it's fatigue.
What sort of fatigue? Well, different body parts. He's sore all over the place, he gets sore in different places but it's not arm related.
..... okay.
I mean, immediately following his disappearance from the Akron roster, the cat was out of the bag-- arm issue. Fatigue for a pitcher usually means there's an arm issue. The fact Antonetti can't give a single body part that's bothering Triston McKenzie is completely odd-- nagging hamstring injury, strained oblique, etc.
It's a weird situation all the way around.
I think maybe you are looking too much into this. He did have shortened spring and everything like that so I wonder if that messed up his strengthening program type of thing. I would be worried if he wasn't healthy for spring, so until then I will assume he just needs general rest to recover. He is also still growing into his body in some ways since he is listed at only 165 lbs so I feel this is all precautionary like the White Soxs did with Sale.
He will make his MLB debut likely next season, but he will also be on an innings limit of 140-150 at most between the pros and the minors as well. 2020 is likely when they let go of the innings limit.
Agree with all of this. Just a little wired because he threw 143 innings in 2017, but if I’m reading it right only 91 this
year. That’s a significant drop off.
Maybe they started something different with him mechanically and are building strength, with an increase as you mentioned in 19 and full go in 20.
Well, he injured his forearm in Spring Training this year.
He then throws 91 innings this year before they shut him down due to "fatigue".
Many people around the Indians and the Rubber Ducks reported that his elbow flared up. Antonetti then refuted that a few days later by saying he has general soreness and fatigue but didn't offer a specific body part of concern but made a point to say it's not a shoulder, elbow or forearm issue.
It's just kind of a bizarre situation.....
Tall/skinny people creep me out. How has that kid not added on any weight with a professionl program? Dude needs to eat.
No thanks got a headacheGo fuck yourself
- Sam Hentges had a great first full season coming off TJ surgery. Secondary stuff isn't back yet but he still struck out a batter+ per inning this year.... which is really impressive.
