2018 NBA Draft - June 21

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Bridges is going off! he has a tendency to disappear sometimes, so it's nice to to see him grab the bull by the horns and go to work like this.

Not a good showing for Jackson. The guards there arent doing him any favors though.

He had a couple of bad calls go against him and his shot has been off in a big way. Definitely not his best game. He's still had moments where you see his potential but all in all it has not been pretty.

Izzo hates Jaren Jackson or something. I don't think he liked his post up play late in regulation.. he subbed him out right away. I feel like he wants to limit his game.
I also don't like how he handles his minutes.. very weird sub patterns whether he is in foul trouble or not.

I don't know, Jackson hasn't played well and they managed to go up with him on the bench. In general I think it's difficult to manage fouls in college because it's played in two halves.

I can't really hold it against him in this game, honestly. Most of Jackson's offensive execution was really shoddy tonight.

But it's always like that... even when he plays well and not in foul trouble he finds himself on the bench a lot.

So what's our stance on Miles Bridges? I think he can definitely play the 4 in the NBA.

Can he? Great game by him today, obviously, but his rebound/block numbers have dropped off alarmingly from his freshman year averages. Looking more than ever like a wing to me.

Oh, I absolutely think he should be getting more minutes, but Jackson is still very raw and playing him for extended periods isn't necessarily condusive to winning basketball. On top of that, Jackson is the type of player who will keep learning even if he's on the bench. He's not the kind of guy to start sulking and shutting coaches off just because he's on the pine.

Has very very similar numbers to Draymond Green... better blocking numbers than Green while playing the SF position, just a tad bit lower rebounding numbers than Green, better shooting from everywhere on the court, lower stl% which is bad for a wing player, better vertical. But overall, he looks just as suited to play the 4 as Draymond Green is.

Green has a much bigger wingspan though and is also a lot heavier than Bridges, and plays with a lot more physicality on top of that. I think Bridges would be better suited as a wing player who can rebound the shit out of the ball and shoot the 3, personally.

I dunno man. Dray's always had a special kind of physicality and willingness to mix it up in the paint, and I just don't see that from Miles very often. His only double-digit rebound games this year came against North Florida, Southern Utah, and Savannah State. At the NBA level I think he'd get overwhelmed playing the 4.

Bridges floats to the perimeter an awful lot. Not seeing a natural 4 in his game. Obviously he can play small-ball 4 a lot in the league but he definitely looks like a wing when he plays.

Yeah, that's true. Problem is that his best fit offensively is against PFs... would be very hard to contain as a 4, but as a SF, he would be much easier to deal with.

Defensively he can move his feet really really well, I love his defence on the perimeter, so guarding SFs in my opinion shouldn't be a big issue.

If he is paired with a decent rim protector, even if he doesn't protect the rim like Green, I think it wouldn't be a major issue defensively at all if guys like Love and Crowder(who is shorter and doesn't have nearly the same explosiveness) and various others are able to play the 4 defensively. I think it's all about maximising his offensive potential. He could also be a very good switch defender if you want to take him away from the basket.
