2018 NBA Draft - June 21

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Right on queue starts making shots.

He drives right EVERY single time it's insane. I don't understand how teams can't gameplan for something so simple.

Can't go to his left and can't finish with his left. Every time he goes left he finishes with the right.Bum.

He will struggle so fucking much at first.

I have a feeling that I'm overrating NBA teams' ability to gameplan a guy out of a game during the regular season. Guarantee he'll be able to still constantly drive right whenever he wants until the playoffs where he's scouted correctly.

I've said it in here prolly 10 times but I fucked up bad and ranked Lauri out of the lottery last year almost solely out of the basis that he can be almost entirely negated on offense when you switch any screen involving him. Yet you'd watch Bulls games earlier in the year and he'd get open pick and pops for days. Haven't watched them much of late though.

Probably overvaluing it again with Knox, but yeah he'll be shit in like a playoff setting regardless

Quade Green has managed 4 rebounds, 0 steals, and 0 blocks in his last 170+ minutes of play. Pretty amazing that this guy was starting over Shai at one point.

College coaches man.

We still get to watch Nick Richards fumble around for 20 minutes a game too.

Shai's lack of a shot off the dribble hurts him so much as a prospect. People have been too quick to just assume he'll improve that area of his game. He doesn't even look at the rim when he's on-ball on the perimeter usually.

I agree to an extent, but I also think we're just spoiled this year with Doncic and Young. No such thing as a teenager with legit point guard skills and a reliable jumpshot in 90% of drafts.

EDIT: Fuuuuuuck Quade...why...lol...

Yep. And Shai will be a solid player even without a shot off the dribble. People just see his overall % and assume he's hitting alot of those off the dribble and he's not.

These are all of his shots off the dribble. Just 3 for 13 this season coming into tonight's game from 3 on dribble jumpers. Teams will go under screens in the P&R with him until he proves he can hit these... negates some of his driving ability.

@Sir'Dom Pointer solved for me how to get shot chart data on Synergy. Was like some Da Vinci Code type of shit for the past week of me trying to figure it on my own without any luck lmao

Well, when he plays the Cavs he will have zero problems. We go over screens and switch regardless. He reminds me of Delon Wright which I liked as a prospect and that's what we did against him the other night, so you never know.

That's partly why I have Zhaire over Shai. Neither can shoot at all off the dribble, but Zhaire has a skillset where he doesn't need to shoot off the dribble to be an impact player.

Why even set a screen when he can simply blow by JR Smith whenever he feels like it? Lmao... They're still using him as a late-game defensive sub, including last night. No idea what they're watching there.

I've heard the Delon Wright comp. I remember he was a guy I and others were very intrigued with at 24 (he went before that I think) in the 2015 draft before we traded down and took Cedi.

I still have 0 idea what to think of Zhaire. Such a weird prospect lol. I don't know if you saw but ESPN added him to their latest 2018 mock draft (had previously only been in their 2019 mocks - Jontay is still there) and I believe he was at #16 or #18
