2018 NFL SEASON Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
They've only had one really bad loss in the playoffs I'll give you that. Titans. EDIT: They beat the Texans, but that was with Hoyer at QB. So, that's like playing a team with a blind man at QB. :chuckle:

But how do coaches choke? They're not out there playing. Do they get so nervous they forget to coach?

Alex Smith chokes. I wouldn't even say that. He's not very good. It's easy to expose QBs like him. They're limited and when you game plan around them its easy to limit them.

All their other losses the QBs were much better on the other side.

I'm not some big Andy Reid fan, but exactly what has he really had?

I don't even consider McNabb an elite QB. He was very good. But not a HOFer. Did get them to the SB. I can't look back on those Eagles teams and say it was a shame they didn't win a Super Bowl.

And you're only going to go so far with Alex Smith at QB. We're talking about a conference with Tom Brady, Peyton Manning (when he was still there), and Big Ben.

Those guys have own the conference. Everyone else loses to them, too. And they're all going to the HOF.

Peyton and Brady are the two greatest ever. It's not a great conference to be in over the last 15 years.

But shit is changing. Brady is getting old. Manning is retired. And the Chiefs have finally have an elite QB.

If they're one and done, then, yeah I'll give you choking.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but the fact is that Andy Reid has a history of coaching great teams that flame out as soon as they go up against someone who can outcoach him. Until he bucks that history, it's going to get brought up, same as it did with LeBron until he won his first Finals.

If they're one and done, then yeah, he's going to get a lot of shit. And probably should. Because he's never had a QB like this. Not even close IMO.

But I actually worry about how bad the Chiefs defense is. That's why they blew the Chargers game.

Their defense is really bad. And if Mahomes isn't playing at an MVP level, they're beatable.

That said, if they get home field and you have Mahomes. And are one and done. That's a pretty bad season to me.

I don't think they'll win it all. I think they are still the favorites to get to the SB, as long as NE doesn't get home field.

If NE somehow does. Yikes, I really think those fuckers are going back to the SB.

Declining or not, I just don't think anyone can beat them in Gillette. And the guy that loves to makeout with his son, can still pull a rabbit out of his ass and suddenly look like Brady of old. And not just Old Brady.

This Texans' offensive line is horrendous. It has been a problem all year but the Jets are destroying it tonight.

I am pretty convinced that Houston is going to blitzed in the first round. I doubt they make it to the AFC semifinals.

Depends who they play, but the AFC is brutal this year.

I can see them beating the Pats or Chiefs ironically, but struggle most against the Steelers.

Pats are probably their best match up, just because their defense really sucks and they have a good enough defense to cause Brady some issues.

Chiefs have a decent pass rush. It's just they can't stop the run or the pass.

Texans just have a horrible mix of a terrible offensive line and the worst starting RB in the NFL. The rest of that team is stacked but that is just going to be tough to overcome.

Today was good for them, though. They really adjusted in that fourth quarter and brought in some quick passes. Hopkins is my favorite receiver in the NFL. Not necessarily the best, but, that due can catch anything.

I think there are at least a couple of teams with worse RBs than Lamar Miller. He's been pretty good this year.

Wasn’t sure about his ankle injury tonight... announcers sounded pessimistic. But yeah, if he’s healthy then he is middle-of-the-pack or slight better.

They also have Foreman who just came off of IR. He looked good last year when healthy, although an Achilles tear is always a tough one to come back from. Not sure what the recovery rate is like for guys as young as Foreman because I don't remember the last guy under 30 who suffered one.

Chargers, Colts and Ravens will cause issues. Ravens not sure they can generate enough offense.

I think Chargers and Colts would cause issues for sure.

Pats would be their best bet because Hopkins and Thomas I think would destroy the Pats really awful secondary.

This Lamar Jackson experiment won't last. Running QBs didn't work 15 years ago.. They really don't work in this era.

My dream playoff conf finials and super bowl.

KC - PATs
