2018 NFL SEASON Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I said you can choose to believe me or not. I asked my guy and he’s standing behind what he said. Just passing along what I heard

I only commented because you made the post before the news broke that the CT scan revealed a fracture. Before it was just reported as a back injury, but now it appears actual testing revealed a fracture. It's just weird they would go into that much detail if they were actually covering up something else. But I'm not saying anything towards you, I appreciate you passing the info along.

He looks like Manning in his last year though. All his throws float now. Chargers were my second favorite team after the Browns. I have mix feeling about them after they left San Diego.

I'll never root for a team from Los Angeles. I hate that arrogant town.

I don't have anything against Rivers. I sure as hell was rooting for KC though

I think the Chargers are a darkhorse super bowl team.

Pretty much it was them and the Chiefs that have most impressed me this season.

Texans also did but I don't see them getting past the divisional.

I think the New England-Pittsburgh game will be the ultimate test of who the AFC rep is from the Super Bowl (I say while gritting my teeth).

In the past, the Chargers have always seemed to have a ton of injury issues as the season went on, which hasn't really been the case this year, at least to a serious extent...lots of minor injuries but only a few major ones right now. They also had a tendency to fall apart down the stretch, which was probably at least partially related to the injuries.

This year, though, they seem to be peaking at the right time, and they just made a statement win on the road at Arrowhead last night to keep them in the conversation for a bye. Might be a different Chargers team.

To be fair, no one in Los Angeles cares about the Chargers. :chuckle:

It makes it more messed up they get two teams. Hell, they don't even care about the Rams.

Pure greed by the NFL. San Diego cared about their Chargers. As a Browns fan, I feel for them having their team ripped from them like that.

It's hard for me to ride on the Chargers getting out of the AFC. Not when its really good this year. any other year maybe...

I just don't know if Rivers can out play Tom Brady and Mahomes in their stadium twice. Which he'll need to do to get to the SB. And he's not as good as either QB...

He's always been wildly inconsistent.

I think the dark horse is Houston. But even them, I'm not that sold on. I realistically only see it being Kansas City, Pittsburgh (I know, but they still have the makeup to match up with anyone), and New England third.

New England only because its still Tom Brady and Belichick, but they're on their last string and this Pats team really isn't good this year. But if they get home field, you'd be a fool to write them off. It's still nearly impossible to beat them in their building in the playoffs. Hasn't happen since 2013.

AFC is better than people think. NFC really isn't as good. Yes, the Rams and Saints are great, but after that the quality really drops.

In the AFC you got the Colts (making it I think), Steelers, Pats, Chargers, Chiefs, and Texans. Those all pretty damn good teams with good QB play... It's going to be hard to get through that.

Cowboys, and Bears got good defenses but their offenses are from another century. Seattle is just blah... They aren't very good.

AFC is the better conference this year. I'd love to play against the Bears and Cowboys the most if I'm a playoff team. Two offenses that aren't going to scare you and generate a lot of points likely.

KC is a known playoff choker, at home or not. Rivers hasn't been great in big games either. Patriots look downright ordinary, Steelers are falling apart.

The NFC, in particular the Rams, Saints and Bears could all boat race the AFC teams. I'm even coming around on the Cowboys, post-Cooper

If you ask me now, I would say we are looking at Saints-Chargers, with Saints-Texans a close second.

Who are most Chargers’ fans now? Are they just old San Diego fans following the team?

Everyone I know from LA is a Rams fan. Can somebody give me some sort of breakdown of who in LA or elsewhere is rooting for the Chargers?

Kansas City hasn't had a QB since Joe Montana.

They've gone from Alex Smith to the MVP.

Their history is irrelevant.

Just like ours is now we have a QB.

If they were losing year after year with Tom Brady or Peyton you'd have a point.

I mean they have choked away their two biggest games this year, so until proven otherwise, I'm assuming that they will choke.

This year?

They also just had a great comeback win last week.

I mean, teams do lose... Their only losses are against the Chargers, Pats (on the road), Rams (on the road).

All playoff teams. The Rams and Pats should win those games in their building.

The Chargers game I don't think they choked, Chargers just won the game. KC already beat them in week one. Realistically you expect to draw even against a really good team in your division. They did that.

Why is it every time a team loses, they choked? I don't really get that. It's not like they're playing against the Raiders, and blew it.

These are good teams they got beat to.

They've still beaten teams like the Steelers (at Pukesburgh), Chargers in LA, and Baltimore.

The teams they lost to Pats, Rams, and Chargers all could have gone either way and were great games.

Did the Saints not just get completely taken apart by the Cowboys? Teams lose.

They still have the number seed in the division. They're still the team to beat in the AFC.

Why is it every time a team loses, they choked?

Because Andy Reid's career is defined by choking in big games. Until he gets that monkey off his back, big losses will be referred to as choke jobs.

I'm not some big Andy Reid fan, but exactly what has he really had?

I don't even consider McNabb an elite QB. He was very good. But not a HOFer. Did get them to the SB. I can't look back on those Eagles teams and say it was a shame they didn't win a Super Bowl.

And you're only going to go so far with Alex Smith at QB. We're talking about a conference with Tom Brady, Peyton Manning (when he was still there), and Big Ben.

Those guys have own the conference. Everyone else loses to them, too. And they're all going to the HOF.

Peyton and Brady are the two greatest ever. It's not a great conference to be in over the last 15 years.

But shit is changing. Brady is getting old. Manning is retired. And the Chiefs have finally have an elite QB.

If they're one and done, then, yeah I'll give you choking.
