2018 NFL SEASON Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Succotash Barkley is a good RB.

But in no universe is he worth the #2 pick. James Connor says hello.

Other thoughts on the Week so far.

1) Fucking David Johnson is killing me. I hope Rosen fixes that situation.
2) It is going to be a completely different NFL in only two years time. Manning, Rapistburger, Flacco, Luck, maybe even Brees and Brady will either be on their last legs or gone. The new guard already has the reins. It is pretty cool to watch.
3) I hate Kenyon Drake.
4) AP still has it and I was a fool to not play him this week.
5) Dallas is a mess. They desperately need a WR. Who knows, they may even sign Corey Coleman.
6) My Seahawks (second favorite team) are putting it together.
7) The Cavs should trade for Butler.
8).

Something the whole league should thank the Browns for: The Browns prevented the Patriots from extending their window of dominance for another 15 years. Bill was willing to trade the farm to move to #2 for Baker.

That is all that needs to be said about the kid.

Interesting that the three QBs the Browns have been most skewered for not acquiring in the last three years (Wentz, Watson, Garappolo) have all torn ACLs in the last 12 months. Not saying they were right for passing on any of this guys (especially in the case of Wentz) but just something I noticed.

Maybe it is destiny.

That was something I was thinking about just now.

They had the deal with the Giants lined up and that's all it would have taken. Us drafting Barkley or Darnold.

Rosen looked extremely uninterested in playing football. He was just sitting on the bench with less than two minutes left, after throwing a INT, and about to get the ball back. He gave zero fucks.
That was his knock coming out of college. He just gives off the vibe of, who fucking cares. Those last two drives did not change my mind at all.

Joey Harrington thought he was looking in the mirror today watching Rosen

These roughing the passer penalties are going to cause alot of controversy as the year progresses.

First and foremost, they are not being called evenly.

2nd, if the league doesn't want the qbs getting hurt? Qbs should be given a flag and not permitted to leave the pocket.

I see really big issues in a few weeks if the refs don't change the way they are calling it

2016
Goff
Wentz
Dak

2017
Trubisky
Mahomes
Watson

2018
Mayfield
Darnold
Allen
Rosen

Certainly some fun players/prospects in that group. Mahomes looks insane right now. Will be fun.
Just based on way premature analysis, it looks like we may have three superstar, elite talent QBs and seven decade+ starters.

I am not sure there are any true busts. Trubisky is meh so far, and Watson has really regressed post-injury, but still, what a great group.

Sauce?

If my Cowboys can get a borderline WR #1 and Earl Thomas via trade, I think we can make the playoffs. Without those things? *cries*

On the plus side, Jerry Jones is starting to morph into Zombie Al Davis with his delusional takes, weird old stories out of nowhere, and over-meddling. It's been fantastic to watch lately.

Mayfield, Darnold, Allen, and Rosen are now starting and I'm excited.

Waiting for Lamar Jackson.

I'll be watching all these QBs play.

Hell just look browns games this year to see the huge difference of how these things are being called. Tyrod took at least a couple of hits I can think of that were a CLEAR violation of the new rules, and they werent called. Mean while Myles has got called for a hit against big ben which the league later apologized for. I cant at all see the difference between the Myles hit from week one and the Mathews hit yesterday. Furthermore Mayfield got hit low and rolled up on during one of his scrambles which has been a penalty for several years now and it was ignored....

Inconsistent doesnt even begin to cover the difference of the calls. I read on another message board, and fully agree with the statement that if normal hits are going to be called game changing penalties anyway, why would a team try and and avoid it? Fuck it, might as well put the other QB through the washer if its going to be called anyway.
